Shotgun Junky's 18 year old lead guitarist Guy Howland started playing at the age of 14, quickly picking up the basics, he was sent by his school at the time to the London Institue of Guitar, At 15 he was doing 2 lessons a week. He soon was under the tuition of one of London's finest guitar tutors "Martin Goulding". He also at the time was joining and forming bands.In 2004 he met with bassist Ian Candy, later also recruiting Quinn Brierley. They formed Shotgun Junky, joining with singer/ songwriter Nick Wilson.As well as performing solo, Guy's main interest is is the band, they write all their own music and lyrics and perform constantly around the country.Guy's own solo music is a blend of classical, metal and prog rock. He writes tuneful guitar instrumentals, with attention to structure and dynamics.
