About Me

Not a stranger to hard work, Dont Kill The Messenger is here to stay. Formed in the Fall of 2006, DKTM set sail for something they had never even dream't of. After rehearsing for close to 3 months the band formed a unique metalcore/punk style and began playing shows non-stop in December 2006.
Shortly later in 2007 after gaining some ground and a little sucess, DKTM recorded, self-pressed, and released their first EP titled "We Are All Compromised." This included the ever so popular "I had an Ephiphany" and "In This Till The End." The EP went on to be self-pressed and released two more times to a total of 1000 copies to be sold.
That Summer the band embarked on a 5 day tour with Victory Records finest Emmure and New Jersey's own, Waking The Cadaver. As the Summer came to a close, the band found themselves opening up for lots of national touring acts such as: Bring Me The Horizon(First U.S. Tour), The Devil Wears Prada, A Day To Remember, Gwen Stacy, My Children My Bride, and many more. Winter was setting in and the demand for new music was ever growing each day, so the band went back to the studio and recorded the "November" Demo. The demo included two songs, "2005" and "November" which not only brought new success to the band but also featured Michael "Spitz" Peters on vocals as well.
After the release of the demo, the boys in Sleep Serapis Sleep approached DKTM about doing a three week do or die December tour titled "The Unforgivable Tour". The tour would cover most of the Midwest as well as the South and East Coast. The tour ended sadly five dates early and left DKTM stranded in Florida with no money or place to stay. Luckily their tour manager Trey "Willy Dee" Lomax stepped it up and got them home safely.
The band had camped out in Virgina for a few days. That's when a few of the members began contemplating on whether to keep going with DKTM or to just give up. Shortly after returning home the band replaced long time friends, guitarist Michael Peters, bassist Nolan Dodd, and drummer Chris Moss. With a new line up, nothing to lose, and a tour in the mist, the band headed back into the studio once again to record the "Decades" demo. The songs on the demo were never released or played live once because of the coming and going of members. The tour was cancelled, the management deals were called off, and the band was history.
Some of the members went off to play in other bands while others pursued life endevors. In August 2009, exactly three years after the band first started practicing, DKTM played a much anticipated reunion show with all of its original members. Since the reunion show, the band has made the decision to get back together. As the band sets into the fall, they are writing a new EP to be released in December as well as a tour to follow. Watch out, because the boys are back in town.
