WHO IS KURODA CODY?:
Kuroda Cody was born, David Lamont Black Jr. in Indianapolis, Indiana on April 30th, 1986. Since that day, his journey has been one of music, dance, and the pursuit of happiness through art.
In his teen years, the name Cody Lamont was born through a common name game. David took on this name as an alternate persona, one that embodies all the talents and drive necessary to thrive in the music business. As time went on, and the artist changed, the name Cody Lamont evolved into Kuroda Cody. A name that represents both the childhood dreams of David Black and the Japanese culture that has influenced his life. Kuroda (é»’ç”°) means "Black field" and is the Japanese equivelent of the last name "Black".
Following his dream of becoming a singer in Japan, Cody enrolled in Ball State University in 2004, double majoring in Musical Theatre and Japanese. HE studied in Sapporo University for 8 months and returned to the states to graduate with a Bachelors of Arts in Japanese. He is currently living in Saitama, just north of Tokyo.
