"DJ Eric Draven., born Eric C. Bailey, in Stuttgart, Germany, March 18, 1980. As a military brat he attended public school in Charlotte, NC, Indianapolis, IN, and Los Angeles, CA. Eric discovered the music beat at a very early age (his mom says it started in the womb). In the fourth grade, he started playing the drums and at home, dabbled with the keyboards. But it was listening to the music in the early years of rap and hip-hop that awakened him to his dream of becoming a DJ.
DJ Draven growing up in the age of hip-hop and listening to the music mixture at home, his father shared his love of Soul music with him and his mother share of love of Rock, a young DJ Draven spent time in his bedroom creating some of the craziest mixes you’d ever want to hear on a makeshift turntable.
In 1989 he and his family settled in Orlando, FL where he attended Dr. Philips High School and took classes in Visual & Performing Arts (Music & Production). After graduating in 1999, DJ Draven attended Full Sail University receiving his Associate’s degree in Recording Arts Engineering in 2002. DJ Draven was able to intern in Atlanta for a short period of time and at 102Jamz & Power 95.3 and Earth & Essence Productions in Orlando.
While at Full Sail, learning innovative new music programs and hands-on learning in the school’s digital music studio on programs and equipment such as Acid and Protools Tascam, DA-60 (DAT), DA-98 (DAT), JVC BR-22, Neotek, SSL 900J, Otari, Studder, Orbits, that would change his outlook on music production forever, motivate him to becoming a recognized DJ and be a driving force to making his dreams a reality.
DJ Draven is a mainstay in the local club scene. You will find him in the booth with headphones at some of the Orlando’s hottest clubs, events, and parties. Clubs like Red Coconut, the Groove, at Universal Studios, Icon and Cairo & events at places like Kahunna Grill.
DJ Draven’s ability to play a wide range of music from 70s, 80's, Hip Hop, Rock, House, and play them in a unique style is what sets him apart from the others. He has has a strong desire to share his music with people from all walks of life and is motivated to continuing to listen and learn.
