Nausea was formed by Murat Sabuncu (guitar), Tayfun Deniz (guitar/vocals) and Serkan Vatansever (drums) in Izmir in year 2002 with the name "Benighted". This triplet who were studying in Ege University Mechanical Engineering Department, began to cover some songs of their favourite bands. At the same year, the band gave a concert in Ege University Spring Fest, where they created a unique atmosphere by playing some songs from Death, Amon Amarth, Dismember, The Haunted, At The Gates, Hypocrisy and Dark Tranquillity. Including the year 2005 the band kept their position in these Spring Fest concerts. Apart from those, they had partaken in lots of local concerts that were held in pubs or concert halls. As time passed, Nausea had decreased the number of cover songs and had begun to write their own songs. Melodic way of death metal (band members' common taste) formed the main structure of the songs and these songs then reinforced by the elements from death-grind, hardcore, thrash etc. In the beginning of May 2006, their six-track demo recording "Unreturnable If Opened" saw the light of day. Not much later, in November 2007, the band released their debut album "Shuffle Among Causes".
