About Me

I have been an amateur musician and songwriter for many years, playing solo in folk clubs and sessions, in duos, trios and larger bands, acoustic and electric. Currently I'm most often seen playing in the North East of Scotland with the morph ceilidh band Skirlie Beat (Uillean Pipes, saxaphone, guitar and electric bass) or solo in sessions, plus the occasional foray into providing accompanying guitar to real singers, like Kate O'Connell and Sonas.Notable supports that I can remember over the years have included Nancy Griffiths, Alex Campbell, Peter Bellamy, Jo-Ann Kelly, Chris Smithers, Martin Simpson and JJ Gilmore.A current project is to complete recording of two collections of songs, to be available for download under the working titles of "Blood and Honey" and "Gladly - the Cross-Eyed Bear", to satisfy the fairly tiny group of people who've occasionally asked me "have you got a CD?" - and myself.
