Jamaica Vibes is a show. The event focuses on promoting talent and positive lifestyle with live performances, art and entertainment in all genres. Talent development, including performance craft and music education is a primary objective of the show. It is available as an entertainment package that can be tailored for a variety of settings including corporate functions.
Started in 2002 at Haining Road by word of mouth, Jamaica Vibes ran for over two years as a grass roots production. The show was aligned with and hosted several workshops before being discontinued for further development. Since re-launching in December 2007 Difamli has produced shows with the likes of Seretse Small, Duane Stephenson, Keisha Patterson, Empress, Lil Joe, UWI Dance Society, No-maddz, Oba Simba, Stephanie Wallace, Michael Sean Harris, Ra Deal, Raging Fyah, Roslyn Williams, Lutan Fyah, Lymie Murray, HQ, Dean Fraser, LSX, Turbulence, and many others. Jamaica Vibes has also hosted album launches, and functions such as JIPO’s Intellectual property week celebration 2008.
Jamaica Vibes is not just a show, it’s a training ground. Working closely with studios, producers, coaches and entertainment veterans, Jamaica Vibes aims to share a wealth of knowledge and experiences of the entertainment business. Keeping participants informed of and involved with seminars, workshops and productions of other organizations, Difamli continues to develop this aspect of Jamaica Vibes. In turn the show continues to grow as a feeding ground for various talent seekers such as, A&Rs, Producers, Record Execs and other musicians.
Jamaica Vibes is not just a show, it’s an experience; live music & entertainment, refreshing talent, liquor, juice, snacks and that hot ‘Jamaica Vibes Soup’. See both established and upcoming acts working their material in a relaxed artist friendly environment. Support Jamaican arts and culture with Jamaica Vibes, ‘Keeping live music alive’ the last Wednesday of every month at Weekenz (80 Constant Spring Road, Kingston). A product of the Jamaican Diaspora; colonization in reverse; the outcome of cultural synergy; S.H.A.Q. The MC is a child of the eighties. Born East London when Bob Marley's legacy was beginning and Michael Jackson was casting his name in stone as a record breaker, The MC grew in a Jamaican family of artists. Twenty something years later, no cape, just a superman pinky ring and a Kangol hat, S.H.A.Q. hits the meanest of beats with his super prowess.
A musician producer and writer, he made an early start on his training for sound success singing with the Sylvia Young Stage School and the Southwalk Cathedral choir. Finally moving home to Jamaica at age 11, S.H.A.Q. continued his musical expression performing in numerous school productions. Always found inking poetry or raps in the back of books throughout school, it wasn't until college that sharing them started to seem like a good idea.
Now as Co director of Difamli Entertainment, S.H.A.Q. The MC has an extensive catalogue of songs ranging from: Hip Hop, Soul, to Reggae Dancehall. While working on a number of projects including mixtape releases, solo project MYSTORY , and group project WEDIS , S.H.A.Q. can currently be found honing his stage craft at Difamli’s monthly artist showcase JAMAICA VIBES
