334 Mobb

Recently signed to Def Jam, after LA Reid simply wouldn't let them leave the Def Jam building, hip-hop duo 334 Mobb, with its passionate and introspective song writing, unique flows and compelling production style, is set to emerge as the definitive movement of southern streets. Brothers Supa Star, 22, and Sawed-off, 19, hails from Montgomery, AL. The brothers have been honing their musical talents for over a decade since their father formed a singing gospel group in the 1994.
Over the last eleven years, Supa Star and Sawed-off have emerged as some of the most skilled young artists, songwriters and producers in the country. With clever and sophisticated lyrics and flawless production, the Mobb's versatility is startling. "We don't want to be pigeonholed as rappers," says Supa Star. "We want to do it all, from performing to writing to production. We're gonna shake things up in the hip hop game."
Working with Bone Crusher and Banner, 334 Mobb set the mixtape world afire with their single "I Aint a Killa". DJ's across the country including, DJ Jelly, DJ Chuck T, and DJ Judgmental, featured the single on their highly circulated mixtapes.
While blazing mixtapes with their freestyles and original material, 334 Mobb has also hosted mix CD's with some of the country's most popular DJs. The duo was featured on Atlanta's own HOT 107.9 and are regulars on XM and Sirius radio as well as many mixshows across the world.
334 Mobb has performed along side Outkast, Lil Jon, T.I. and more. "We just wanna spread our sound throughout the world" says Sawed-off. Judging from the response 334 Mobb has received in the highly influential South, the two brothers are off to a great start.
It’s been 50 years since civil rights pioneer Rosa Parks changed the social landscape of the entire nation, but ironically the perception of her hometown has remained the same. Montgomery, Ala., natives Keith and Kennie Buchanan, collectively known as 334 Mobb, are determined to change their cities worldview. A lot of people get it misconstrued, thinking everybody a farmer”, laments 19-year-old Keith. Raised in an anomalous two-parent household, Keith and Kennie’s music career began in the choir led by their father, who’s a Baptist minister. “A lot of niggas try to avoid saying that they parents done took em to church, God is nothing to be ashamed of, says Ken, a.k.a. Supa Star.
After a brief stint on Atlanta’s Tight 2 Def Records in 2004, 334 took their self-contained operation to label showcases in New York. Every label up there wanted to sign us, says Ken; But LA Reid was like, “Yall aint leaving until ya’ll go ahead and sign [with us]”. After a legal problem 334 mobb had to terminate the contract with Def Jam and are now just signed with there label Black Drop Entertainment Now 334 Mobb has teamed up with young hip-hop mogul Brennan Sayre to further there label Black Drop Entertainment which has already become a force in the music world.
