I like watching old movies. I like thinking about movies. I like to ponder people. I studied Anthropology and Psychology in school. I like languages and etymology. I think everything about us is fascinating. Why are we motivated and all that shit. What unites us, what divides us. This is boring. This is why I don't talk. But, I do like to bake and make candy. So if you live near me, you might get lucky.

Beastie Boys, I heart you. I can not be in a bad mood when they are playing. I don't feel like I'm that into music. But, here are some cd's I usually have in my car. Beck, White Stripes, Tribe Called Quest, Pixies, Gorillaz, Jay-Z, Biggie, George Clinton, Public Enemy, Iggy Pop, Spoon, Wu-Tang, Radiohead.
Oh, my very favorite topic. Thin Man is my favorite. I am really into classic movies. I am obsessively buying old movies on dvd and I know the format is gonna change on me, but I hope I'll be able to convert them to the new technology. I like to just look at the collection and sigh. Foreign Correspondent, Strangers on a Train, Maltese Falcon, Big Sleep, Ball of Fire, Now, Voyager, Mr. Lucky, Philadelphia Story, Bringing up Baby, all the Thin Man movies, All About Eve, The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, Casablanca, To Catch a Thief, The Women!!, An Affair to Remember, To Kill a Mockingbird, Cape Fear, Singin' in the Rain, The Lady Eve, Grand Hotel, Designing Woman, In the Heat of the Night, Random Harvest, Gone with the Wind, East of Eden, White Heat, Angels with Dirty Faces, Gaslight, Pride and Prejudice (1995), Bridget Jones Diary, Office Space, Shaun of the Dead ---I'm tired.
Office, Scrubs, Arrested Development, Lost, My Name is Earl. I try not to watch t.v. It's on all the time. Oh! The Food Network, Turner Classic Movies, HBO, bad movies on TNT and USA. I love spending a weekend watching crap while I'm cleaning. See? That's why I'm not that into music.
Yeah, I don't read either. :) Entertainment Weekly. I always thought Fitzgerald was my favorite author, but now I'm not so sure it's because he was so good, or that I was 15 and an "aspiring aesthete" (from my diary ca. 1990) East of Eden is the best book I think I ever read. In the last year I've read, Time Traveler's Wife, Atonement, Girl's guide to hunting and fishing, Harry Potter, Namesake, the Master, oh and Skinny Dip-- yuk. I love old mysteries. Especially Mary Roberts Rinehart. I think I've read them all, plus her non-mystery fiction. I look at what EW says is good. I only like straight up fiction or those quaint old mysteries. Not into Science Fiction or Fantasy. I do read old movie star biographies. I like the insight into the old studio system. Howard Hawk's biography is on my nightstand.
I don't have heroes. Or herpes, since that's what I accidentally typed. I admire some people. I ain't a robot.
