ABOUT ME
I started writing my history in 3rd person but then realized how trivial it'd be, for I cannot dissect myself objectively and my childhood isn't really the issue here.
Therefore, I decided to merely introduce myself with a bulk of words. It is axiomatic that I will focus on the reason why I am actually writing this now, Music -- however let's get on with it. Without blowing one's own trumpet (or sax, ha ha!) I can describe myself as a somewhat musical person, if such explication even exists (NB. My Blog). Nearly twenty years ago, I begun taking piano-lessons (from my own free will) and just a few years later got through music school's admission test (with highest score!) to start playing the instrument that became the nearest and dearest for me, Saxophone. In addition, I played wee bit of drums, but mainly as a therapy. Thriving for better sleight of hand, technique and knowledge in theory of music, few years passed -- Gosh!
Regardless of my effort, this was turning into a history text. Let's skip the rest -- Using various different methods, I have now composed and produced music for over 10 years from a very wide range of genres; From jazz or hiphop to heavymetal and uplifting trance. Needless to say, thrive for better playing technique withered due to composing, but nonetheless I have always kept playing real instruments and using them in my productions as well.
I've had numerous different aliases but I don't want to get fobbish, so I will just mention few. My very first fully electronic release came out with a name Tacit & Blue (don't ask) on a compilation. Shortly after, Syna was formed. Syna is definately the most productive project I have been in and I care to wager that it will have a long lasting life ahead. And of course, there's the Alter Ego of Syna , called Deck Jagger . D.Jaggers life has just begun, but with a big fuss; The debut single Megaforce has been played by the absolute cream of DJ's (PvD, Deep Dish, Nick Warren, Andy Moore just to mention few). Together with the projects mentioned before, I also work with a group called Roo Rekvenssi. RR's sound is extremely unique with elements from nearly every type of music out there. My job in the band is primarily to play Sax but I've pitched in with the producing as well. Hopefully, we'll get a myspace for RR during this summer.
Despite of the multiplicity of projects I am involved with, I don't work at the studio full-time. My interests extend beyond music to technology and specifically to metallurgy and material physics. So it's consistent that I study at the department of mechanical engineering at the University of Oulu, specializing to materials engineering. However, I am only few courses short to graduate so I might have a tough decision between full-time producing and reseach-work impending ahead -- I know, my focus on music got distracted and the text is getting woefully long. Noteworthy part of this introduction is the part where I go on about my current projects, keep your eye on them. In spite of all, I also try to blog as much as I can. Don't be a stranger.
