ThorNton Creek

About Me

..Who's in the band and what are they doing there?
Thornton Bowman writes songs, plays acoustic guitar, and sings. MJ Bishop sings and plays things. Steve Miller plays bass. Mark Drake plays drums. Don Miller plays electric guitar and sings.
What the heck kind of band is that?
ThorNton Creek oozes out of the cracks between Neil Young, John Hiatt, Wilco and John Prine. Why not listen to a sample and make up your own description?
How long has the band been together?
Thornton, Don started with Duane Taylor out in 1996. Duane left for a while, some other people came and went, and Walter joined in 2001. Duane came back for a while in 2002-03. MJ joined in 2003, then Mark in 2004. Walter left in 2007. Steve re-joined in 2007.
Where are you, and where are you from?
Based in Seattle, Washington. Thornton is from Virginia. MJ came from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Mark, Steve and Don are local.
What's a Thornton Creek?
It's a creek in Seattle. The band's Top Secret Laboratory is located somewhere nearby.
So there's a guy named Thornton but his last name isn't Creek?
True. ("Thornton" is a stage name. His real name is Jethro Tull.)
How do you spell ThorNton Creek (the band, not the creek)? Just like that. With a capital "N" in the middle. Always with an "N". Sometimes people forget the "N", but that's just wrong.
