As the 24 year old Clayton Scott commonly known as Skeez, sits in front of his studio tapping the beat of his favorite song Special Ed’s “I Got It Made.†He is now on the verge of such stardom. Growing up in the Southeast side of San Diego, California, he was influenced musically by his older brother and his childhood friend Tytanik. Break dancing at the age of three to freestyling at twelve, Skeez became a hip hop carnivore even collecting vinyl. He began to satisfy his hunger at fifteen by winning various street battles including runner up in the Source Unsigned Hype And1 Mixtape Battle tour as it stormed thru San Diego and other local underground mic battles. “Many people I meet know me from battles at the Shamrock and on the beach. Taking money and hurting feelings.†He laughs recalling times he was interrupted in his sleep to destroy some of San Diego’s prominent underground rappers. “You know who you are… no names.â€
Winning battles created future career opportunities for Skeez at nineteen when he was hired at San Diego’s 1 Hip Hop radio station Z90. He hosted parties and promoted for the Finest City Broadcasting station and Drip-N-Wet Productions, who threw parties in which he was the feature performer. In addition in 2004 and 2005, Skeez also performed at The House of Blues opening for Grammy winning Bone Thugs-N-Harmony as well as performances alongside Frankie J, Baby Bash, and J-kwon. He was also a feature performer at Spring Break 2007 in Rosarito, opening up for Pitbull and Lil Jon while creating friendships with hip hop elite. With the birth of his son Hasani in 2005 as well as the sudden death of his mother in 2006, life’s hardships and added responsibilities has refueled his desire to bring his passion, creativity and prowess to the masses. Linking back up with childhood friend Tytanik, as well as Mike Wheelz, G.O.S., Mac Shawn and Chris Barclay they have been holding Diego captive as The Enterprise.
In May 2007, Skeez made it on to HipHopDX as one of their “DX Next†features. A month later he made it on the front page of DUBCNN.com.San Diego also represents with production on the track “My System†from Tommy Redding who is also featured on the “Ginuwine Presents†album, local Bumsquad DJ DJ Happee and up and coming 17 year old producer Czar Beatz. In 2008 the buzz continues with the release of his mixtape entitled “The Initiation†available for download on iTunes and other online stores including at www.myspace.com/DaRealSkeez. Included are ladies favorites “Smash That†and “What's Up (Hustlaz).â€
