Lack of Irony and Iron, is making me feel tired...

About Me

so basically i find beauty everywhere, from nature to the concrete buildings scattered like broken teeth across the gaping maw of the surburbs. i wrote a poem that i think kinda defines my attitude in life i guess. it's about escaping the societal and DNAical restraints & expectations. we're all soul rebels, right? doesn't matter that my apartment window used to have an amazing view of the sky & the setting sun, now it's blockaded by buildings and tower cranes. when the buildings were just going up they looked like incredible skeletons of giants against the turquoise night sky. i'll post one of my paintings of it one of these days. "Carpe Diem" which i think means "Fish Die", words to live by friends, words to live by...

My Interests

irony = everything i hate about my hands is what makes them so much fun to draw!! lol!ummm... soooo... here's a couple posters i've done for Phill of Shiftless Rounders' solo projects (check out his myspace under Stripmall Ballads in my top friends!) & wow! scribbling can be useful!! woo hoo!

I'd like to meet:

"C'mon, let's fight! * Throw words around like punches and catch me with your left sly hook * You're flexing your fingers and I'm stamping my foot * So Lunge ~ Parry * Let's throw it all into the eye of the hurricane * Politics, religion, bad music and nuclear fission * Then it's spit back out, all smeared and dripping * Red wine flung like bloodstains on my carpet (Damn! That'll never come out...) * Grab my hands and I'll dance you 'round this messy room! * Laughing, chin back, cheeks flushed * You can smile with one eyebrow * All welcome at the House of Aching Rib Joy.

Music:

yes. music. i love it too much really. Final Fantasy is very awesome * ALWAYS SUPPORT LOCAL & INDEPENDENT MUSIC!!!!(yay! for shows i can afford & friends who make amazing music!!!) * i'm completely addicted to the simon bookish remix of gb's "eavesdropping", that's a damn near perfect song.

Movies:

oh, to run away to sea.... *laa lalalaa la yo ho ho*......

Television:

I HAVE NO TV. The british series "Chef" killed me!!! It's every chef I know rolled into one awesome & brutal man!! "contraband cheese!!"

Books:

The Little Prince, Lord of the Rings (can anyone ever really get sick of those books, i think not!), The Napoleon of Notting Hill, pretty much anything by Wm S. Burroughs & Douglas Coupland (gen x, yah that's me baby!), i'm obsessed w/history, faerie tales & mythology, there's a couple manga series i'm addicted to, such a dork ho hum XD ummm...slight obsession with early 20th cent english writers (ok, it's more than slight, *sigh*)...

Heroes:

People that aren't afraid to think for themselves. "Be strong, Be wrong!"

My Blog

Made of Wood & String

I'm oh so great at beginnings... so, is this just another ridiculous foray into spouting off about Love?  Mmmm... maybe. And is it possible that I consistently use my blog space only to have a fo...

A Wooden Heart

I've been thinking a lot about wood lately, God knows why. Driftwood, trees, splitting & worm-hole ridden, how hideous burls are so beautiful inside... Anyways, I was reminded of a poem I wrote qu...

At a loss for words...

It's possible that I'm occasionally a wee bit 'over dramatic'. "No, really?" you say, while rolling your eyes. Yes, yes! It's true!! Hah! It seems that an Economy of Words is quite beyond my scope. As...

In the hands of Anarchistic Appendages

A flurry of fingers flitting furiously over my keyboard. It almost makes me wish I wasn't quite so proficient at typing, wishing there were even a seconds delay between a thought occuring in...

As gypsies & harlots whirl through the night...

Lately, Beirut's 'The Flying Club Cup' has been the food for my soul. Every day, if no one else is home, I put it on & whirl like a dervish through my livingroom until sated & e...

The Dream and The Answer

This morning I woke up from a dream where I was in the middle of WWII. I wasn't in the battle though, instead I was in a room where a man lay dying in a hospital bed. He was an older Jewish man with d...

"This is unlike the story it was written to be..."

Id like my order of iTunes with fries, please!!!

This is all Moby’s fault. I have the feeling that it was sometime in the mid-90’s that it became completely acceptable, even the norm, for respectable musicians to turn themselves into che...
