--------------------------------With a reputation for being one of the hardest workers in the Local Hip Hop Scene and holding many titles as CEO of UPRecordz, Artist Development & Management, Events Coordinator and all-round Hip Hop Entrepeneur, Phreaze considers herself first and foremost..an Artist.With a style encompassing club instrumentals with technical concious lyrics, Phreaze manages to capture a listeners attention both on recordings and with her high energy level performances on the Live Stage.
THE BEGINNING...
Phreaze began as many Hip Hop Artists do, writing poems at a very young age. At the age of 18, she travelled to Atlanta, Georgia for three months, immersing herself in the culture and Hip Hop of the USA Southern State attending many clubs, cook-outs and performances as possible (Da Brat, JD and other SO SO Def artists among the many) in the short time visited. Moving back and forth between New Zealand & Australia, Phreaze finally decided to settle in Sydney, Australia to concentrate on her Hip Hop Career.PHREAZE LIVE PERFORMANCE...
Major performances (some alongside Urban Prophetz members) include support acts for Boyz II Men, Outlawz - Tupac Still Breathing Australian Tour, Project X (Tim Dog, Kool Keith & Marc Live) and New Zealand’s CHE FU, Hip Hop Sensations TYREE (Smashproof), SAVAGE and “It Only Happens†Diva Miss RENE GEYER herself! Not to mention Festivals such as Bring It On, Pacific Unity Festival and club joints KRAVE (Canberra) Booty Bar, Arizona (Sydney) & Lowdown at Central Hotel (Blacktown) while making appearances on compilations such as International Grind Vol 1, Verbal Essence, and Best of The Mob Volume 1.MEDIA ATTENTION...
Major television appearances include Hip Hop TV, Fat Pizza, Totally Wild, Girl TV, Da Krew & Skool Torque where she's also disturbed the peace on Triple J (live in the studio), The Edge 96.1fm, Mai FM (NZ), Radio Tainui (NZ), Raukawa FM (NZ), Koori Radio, Skid Row, Mafioso Radio, and even Detroit’s CJAM Radio with Needle 9:14. Along with crew Urban Prophetz, she's graced the front page of 3D World Magazine's Urban Supplement HOMEBASE and the FIRST LOOK section of New Zealand's Premiere Hip Hop Magazine BACK 2 BASICS in 2008.FUTURE OF PHREAZE...
Phreaze is now producing, recording, performing, hosting events & workshops with the UPC and is a co-founder of UPRecordz and the Urban Prophetz family, passing on the knowledge to local communities.
