Texas Radio with a BIG BEAT!

About Me

| |The creation of this project was not an easy task. Many drama filled rehersals and bitter sweet performances lead to the meeting of Michael Bates and Ryan Conditt. I got a little story, wanna hear it, here it goes...Michael Bates grew up in West Texas and moved to Whitesboro, Tx in the winter of 1994. He had been playing the guitar for about 4 years at this point and was looking to start a band. He soon met Shawn Wells (bass/guitarist) and started to write. Not long after they were introduced to D Pannell, a drummer from Sherwood Shores, Tx. Soon the first of a long line was formed...Bleu. Bates moved back to West Texas to finish school leading to their disbanding. Returning in the summer of 95 Bates rejoined Wells and newbie Randy Cason in a project called "the Lost Ernies" very punk influenced and short lived. Bates took the next few years experiencing life and writing tons of music with Pannell (acoustic). Bates got married in 97 and started a family, so he laid down his guitar to focus on the important things in life. Then on a glorious day in the summer of 01, Bates was reunited with Pannell once more. They searched out musicians and found guitarist Jason Gibson. They went on to form 69 Meadow, a calm melodic trio, very jazzy. Pannell left the group after their second performance in the fall of 01. Gibson and Bates then met drummer Mason Beaver from Sherman Tx and bassist Jeramiah Current from Pottsboro Tx. HUBB was established in the winter of 02. They played steady for a little over a year when Gibson was replaced by Ryan Kelly. At the end of HUBB's drive in 03...Bates, Current and Kelly decided to start a new project known as Bagdaddy. They brought in drummer (Steve Clark) but fell apart after a short run. Bates and Current then kept Clark and formed Trip Adams. They were at it again as they played several shows a week for about a year. Bates was falling off creatively so departed that summer. Trip Adams went on to be very wide know. Bates then met up with Kelly again to form the band Is...they inlisted the talent of Ryan Criswell (bass) and Max Mcdonald (drums) to complete the circle. Bates' stint was again short term. HUBB had a reunion show in August of 06.Hanging out at Current's during rehersals he met Frank Calwell (singer) and Ryan Conditt(drummer/guitarist). With the help of Current and Topher from Trip Adams they played one show as the Steve November Project. Bates and Conditt are now pushing forward with Daddys Bones. They have great new material to get out there and they are working overtime to do so!
