About Me

David McCormack: A Retrospective 1990 – 2008, Sun 9th Nov 9.15p,Come along and help Dave count. That’s right, he’s counting the beat, one, two, three, four…all the way to 19 songs - one for every year he has spent in showbiz. Chosen from his extensive cattle dog, each song will be a finely crafted pop gem that is guaranteed to dazzle. Starting out as a lonely guy – that is solo- as he did, David will present the tunes of a nascent career that could only hint at the joy that would be spread by Custard, the re-floating of the Titanics and the mainstream exposure of the Polaroids. Joining him in his introspective Retrospective will be sidemen Shane Melder (Sidewinder), Cameron Bruce (Paul Kelly, The Sideshow), Jason Walker (Last Drinks) and Dylan McCormack (Gentle Ben and His Sensitive Side) plus you – the audience. A special close to the evening will be a song written on the day for the day. Join David and his friends at the world famous Spiegeltent on the Opera House Forecourt to celebrate the career of this remarkable and at times off-beat Australian song-writer.
