Sakina, 19 of New England, is a trained dancer, choreographer, vocalist, songwriter and actress. This talented young lady is soon to take the industry by surprise. She began as many artists do singing in church, performing in talent competitions, winning beauty pageants, and honing her gifts in the performing arts middle and high school. It may come as no surprise that a rising star like Sakina would come to Philadelphia to study dance at The University of the Arts and connect with the powerhouse of Gamble and Huff music and Philadelphia International Records. Drawing on all of her past loves and experience, Sakina developed a passion for music, seizing the opportunity to be in the presence of greats such as Patti Labelle, Teddy Pendergrass, Musiq Soul child, Jahiem, Avant, John Legend, Raphael Saadiq, Chubby Checker and many other Gamble and Huff Affiliates. Sakina is the UArts ambassador for GrammyU, and a DJ on CMAC Radio's “Quest for Truth†radio-talk show (cmacradio.org). She has a breathtaking presence, lively smile and her music expresses her empathy and connection to life’s experiences of joy and sorrow – “People need understand the essence of power that music has over us. If we opened our eyes to the truth of art actually being a tool to educate and make us better human beings, then things in this world could be a little different. Music isn't just entertainment for me, its a correlation to life which we should value, love which we should discover from our higher source, and a understanding of the people we face each day. It amazes me that art can evoke the tears sitting on the brim of your eye, or the smile that almost wasn't seen. That's real power to me, and I want to obtain the closest relationship I can with such a thing." -Sakina_____________________________________________________
___________________________PG is a born native of Philadelphia, PA. He is an accomplished MC, songwriter, singer and producer. As his partner Sakina, he too began his musical journey in church. As early as 3 years old you could catch PG singing is heart out walking down the street with family. PG however, started singing and writing at the age of 9. Throughout his elementary and high school years he sang on choirs as large as 700 people. Even in the early years PG gained adoration with thought provoking writing and articulate speech. At the age of 10 he started rapping. Though rapping took a back seat to singing all through high school, it was something that PG was refining with the many trails and tribulations of life. In his high school years he focused his time on production and songwriter writing for 17 different artists and groups as well as choral pieces for competitions.By the time he was 17 he had been offered two pending deals and varies opportunities to record his music. Though these opportunities sounded good they too frequently ended in disappointment. In the summer of 2005, by way of a college audience he released the X Factor vol. 1 and 2. Shortly after releasing album he released the Abstract Muzik CD. Though the partners he had on those projects took different paths he kept moving, signing a gospel contract with Meta Records in Virginia and releasing "Christ in Black & White" in September of 2006. Throughout that two year span PG got to shake hands with artist such as Musiq Soulchild, Trey Songz, Alicia Keys, John Legend, Stevie Wonder and many other great artists. When PG returned to Philly, he returned with the mindset of music being a way bigger tool than what he had previous seen and used it as. In 2008, with his new partner Sakina and friends like L&S, Ms. Wise, Verso and the T.E.A.M he sought out a new path for music. Back officially in March PG joined forces with Sakina it make a duo for the ages." It's a matter of why we do what we do. People's perception of what music represents is the reason that the truth behind the voice is so weak. What is it that we are talking about, what reality do we portray? Is it realistic to pass of riches for reality? The truth is that music has always carried a message and it always will, the question is where will that message take us? Will we bridge the gaps of broken homes and depression or widen them? Will we riddle and rhyme fairytale or relay reasons for people press on and push their way through.
