For 19 year old Chanelle Ray the Sky’s the limit. This Triple Threat Singer, Actress and model will stop at nothing to pursue her dream of making it to the top in the entertainment industry.
Chanelle Ray was born on December 16, 1988 to her parents Harold and Adrienne Smith, who both exhibit unique musical talents that carried on to their three children. Chanelle happened to be the shy reserved one out of her out going older brother Sean and younger sister Deja, but her parents knew that their baby girl was going to be a star. She began singing as soon as she learned how to utter a sound and writing songs at the age of nine. With musical influences like Beyonce , Aaliyha, Alicia Keys, Lauren Hill and her older brother Sean Ray a.k.a. Scorpio, Chanelle’s expectation were set at such a level that hard work and sacrifices were minute. Chanelle began to record music she wrote at the age of twelve, and from there she never looked back.
Chanelle made a name for herself in the Tacoma/Seattle area by participating in every venture that had to deal with music. She became a member of the group Young Dynasty that consist of two rappers and one vocalist (herself) in 2005. Young Dynasty dropped two compilation albums in 2006 but the group was short lived and Chanelle went solo in 2007. Chanelle has had the opportunity to open up for the hottest players in the industry right now such as Chris Brown in 2006, Lupe Fiasco in 2006 and Rick Ross in 2007 just to name a few. She played the major role of Tanay in the play/musical “Why Lie You Should Have Told Me†in September 2007, February 2008 and June 2008. She modeled in the 2008 Underground Couture Fashion Show in Seattle, The FAMU 2008 Fashion Show and was featured in the 2007-2008 Divas Collection Calendar.
An education at the Seattle Art Institute majoring in Audio Production helped hone her vocal skills, her knowledge for music production and exploring her talents in the entertainment industry.
Chanelle has always displayed a special quality, winning beauty and talent that is key to her determination and willingness to succeed. But because she lived on the fairly remote city of Tacoma Washington she new she had to set out to find greater ventures.
Special thanks goes out to Award Winning Producer of Hitland Ent. Derek Clark. I would also like to thank the incredible Q's Beats and Dwight. If it wasn't for their help I wouldn't be as far and as creative as I am today. Thank you all so much!
