Avalanche (ALBUM OUT+READ BLOG)

It all started back in 2004 when Stathis Stathopoulos (vocals)and Dimitris Lyssimachou(bass guitar) were schoolmates…Their love for heavy metal pushed them to form a band that combines their very broad music tastes.Dimitris brought his friend Aggelos Hardouvelis to play the rhythm guitar..But the band needed also another guitarist and found it to the face of the very talented musician George Chronas…Finally Stavros Vorissis came to fill the gap behind the drum kit and the first line-up was formed in 2005.The band started to write songs and recorded a 4 song demo in 2006.When the demo finished two members of the band departed…Stavros vorisis and aggelos Hardouvelis were replaced By Ilias Samartzis (drums) and Panagiotis Koukoutas (guitars),who was Stathis friend from 7 years old…The line up lasted for 3 months because in April 2006 Konstantinos Kyrtsis joined the band as a third guitarist…In June 2006 we had another change in the band because the experiment of the 3 guitars didn’t work..So Panagiotis Koukoutas left the band.Also Ilias Samartzis quit the band im order to devote his time to his band Turbulence.So Dimitris Pasas joined the band…With this line up the band records during September 2006 and February 2007 his debut album “Avalache” with the enormous help of George Bokos from Rotting Christ…The band gives a lot of concerts and in September 2007 co-founder Dimitris Lyssimachou leaves the band in order to start his studies…Avalanche spends half a year without being active because George and Stathis had to study for the Panhellenic exams…In May 2008 George Leaves the band due to different music direction with the other band and Argiris Afedakis came to fill the gap. Also Sywyn was added to give Avalanche a more colourful sound with the use of keyboards. Panagiotis Koukoutas returns to the band this time as a bassist. Now the band has its First –self titled cd ready and searches for a record company.There are also plans for a new studio recording. Contact us,if you wish, at: [email protected]
