Tribal Cure 08 – the dance spectacular for Breast Cancer awareness is back! Saturday 3rd May 2008 in Cork
Over 40 dancers will be taking to the floor at the Silver Springs Hotel Convention Centre on May 3rd, as part of the annual TRIBAL CURE extravaganza in aid of breast cancer research through The Irish Cancer Society. Now in its third year, TRIBAL CURE is bigger and bolder than ever, with a dazzling line up of performances from Rashenkoti Tribal Bellydance, West Cork’s Ashaka Dance, No Frontiers Dance Company and the ever-anarchic Billy Barty Kids. And to top it all off the audience themselves are invited to make some shapes later in the evening, when Sophisticated Boom Boom Djs will be playing a lively mix of soul, funk, disco and new wave classics to keep everyone’s feet moving well into the night.
TRIBAL CURE is produced entirely by community volunteers and all performers give their time free of charge to support breast cancer awareness and research, so come and support the big event with a big heart for a great cause!
Welcome to RASHENKOTI– a dance of friends that celebrates the diverse and beautiful women we are…
RASHENKOTI is a Tribal Bellydance community based in Cork city, Ireland. Check out our details in the blog above! At its simplest, dance is a language. And Tribal Dance is a modern revival of a very old language, with roots going back as far ancient Babylon and beyond. But its form is modern and today you will find many different takes on the dance itself. True Tribal Dance, however, has always been about celebrating the women we are, not the women the media tells us we are supposed to be.
That image is just plastic, real women are beautiful and unique!
i82.photobucket.com/albums/j263/lemonkeymommie/smaller.jpg We are all shapes and sizes, all ages and abilities. We are all creative. And all of us can dance.
TRIBAL CURE is our annual charity event supporting Cancer Awareness and Research.
Our 2007 Tribal Cure took place on March 31st in Cork and raised over €5,500 (and counting!) for the Irish Cancer Society. It was a great night, thanks so much to all those who supported us or contributed to the event in any way!
