At last.. The public transport is good cause theres shed loads of it with shed loads of people! Armed with my Octapus card bens has been fighting the hords in rain & sun. Got lost in Kowloon awsome for shopping really cheap, unfortunatly my travel light policy has been a bit of a thorn in the side.. Good one for the WAGS. Hong Kong Island is spectacular.. The Peak is a must! went to Kowloon cricket club after the Typhoon warning we had Tue/ Wed the game was certainly off.. So Bens hit the bar! Then he cultered himself at the museum of Art! nice.. An Early night the weather has been a lot better suns not out but i'm optomistic this will keep up till the end of my stay.. A trip to the Big Budda is a rollercoaster! good job I was off the grog else I might of bought it back up (nice) bad driving made it an entertaing coach ride round Lantau Island. Eventually @ Po Lin I met the 'BIG Budda' my dining partner for the afternoon.. Firstly the Machine attacked the steps flying past Japs & the elderly it was easy barely broke a sweat!! For my fine performance the Budda (or monks) gave Bens a top dollar Chinki! I was lead to believe it was a soup dish we were given? Its not! I should of payed attention to everyone else.. Put after laying in to some warm brown water, anxious it would never fill me up the steamed veggies arrived!! The locals possibly were sympathetic to my ignorance, and were very polite.. a top lunch, but importantly a very calm peacefull place.. Went to see Tang Chug where my uncle works for Cathey, saw the 777 and Air bus flight sims.. He also took me up to there viewing tower to check out the planes it was awsome.. So I had a few beerios with the pilots.. Top Gun! The harbour is lovely, Uncle Spides boat is a pleasure to skivvy.. Keepin the Captin happy! just been to the Beach which is the fantasic variety you get here in HK.. Off on the town tonight! Bens is preparing the no.1 shirt for tonight!div Get Your Own! | View SlideshowHit Brisbane this morning living with cousins, its nice here but am not quite sure where I am?? The end of HK was a fine one after a bit of a lame effort on the Friday.. Bensun was sure to get back on track!! A family BBQ was in order & wanting to look my best I'd organised my washing, unaware of any potentials, we happily left it on the dock to Dry! Later on the day a blustering breeze sent Diesel shirts soaring across the marina!! The boat boy saved my bacon and managed to retrieve all branded items unfortunately this was & the cost of pants & socks.. They'll be missed... After a Typhoon warning an Earthquake @ Caffay the weather started to pick up. After a lovely BBQ Bens braved another night in HK. Last night :o( My first location was the Sky lounge in the Sherinton.. Alike NY 'Marriott' the view of the City was breathtaking the laser light show began & Bens got the round in.. This place was posh & expansive not one to look like a tight @rse a 'Vino Tinto' Merlot was on order.. The large glass came offered a taste (regret not now) hmm 'no that'll be fine' I then poured the smallest glass in existence!! $150 bucks please Bens! Chin up... Also alike the Marriott in NY admittingly it was a very lonely place to enjoy on your own!! Luckily some WAGS one French the other from London.. Clocking I was a sad b@stard they came for a chat.. As my round came closer though Bens decided it was a good time to Jog On.. & headed to Chai Wan?? There are a couple of places on HK Island for a night out after mixed reports Chai Wan seemed the place to go! After a few swift ones watching the Aussie rules, it was time for a move after walking 15 feet up the street I was begged to come in to a club! That drink cost me $252 HK dollars (and it was lemonade???) got chatting to a girl called Perla very nice from Thailand when I left she was quite full on (I then realised the crack) something I’m assured in not unheard of over there!!.. Chin up,, I had one to be polite then headed for home ASAP...!! Met up with a friend Michelle Top night, very interesting!! So HK a must!! Not all that expensive but could be very easily.. My hang over on Sunday was quite a large one the a family BBQ & the arrival of my travel buddy Cody' yea he will keep me on the straight and narrow... Slept all the way To Brisbane the Air here is so fresh and new.. My beans have been lifted, just had another BBQ.. Optimistic reference my travels tomorrow!! Gladstone..Get Your Own! | View SlideshowAustralia! Ironically BBQ's, Beaches, Babes, Booze & hot sun. I have been reasonably reserved?? Me & my new travel buddy Cody have headed north. From Brisbane we've hit the highways (6 hours) to Gladstone (Traveling here is a mission!!).. This is considered a hop? “Though; "A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step" - Lau-tzu. Here I have stopped with family, on a farm in the country. From the international spool of HK to the yokel foundation of Australian industry (a drastic change). In my caravan $ friendly neighbor 'Mr. Obe spider' I have been chillin & running (armed with the rains of pain).. The Scenery is fantastic after a manic few week’s sleep & good food have regenerated Benson’s beans, & thirst for adventure.. Here Wallabies scope the plains, Birds sing, Crickets snap & the Geckoes croak! (So been quiet really).. Until my first encounter with the 'Huntsman' a foe that has played on my mind! After a stubby and a Bens, he was spotted on the car bonnet. "Gary is that a full grown one???". "No that a baby!". 'Hmmmm, chin up Bens.. He kindly asked me to remove the offender off his motor.. Unfortunately he did not survive. Not a big or clever thing to do.. Thus that night Bens said his prayers (Karma). (Macca wouldn't like It here!!!!) Beautiful, but everything In Aus Is either toxic, poisonous, deadly or massive! Yet to meet my first 'King Brown' (Snake).. Will cross that bridge when I get to it!! Seriously though enjoying it loads had a chill off to Airlie Beach Wednesday, the action will then again commence.. P.S Had a lovely B'day thanks.. Had a few beers and a BBQ' family & friends very chilled.. My main aim is to remain this age now for a few years :oP..
As you can probably see Airlie Beach Is fantastic a nice little trip to the Wittsundays was a perfect way to end my time In Queensland. The beach you can see is called Newhaven, the sand is the finest in the world and can help re-store your bling!!! After a few chilled days In Makay I headed back down to Brisbane (I will go & see more of the coast after crimbo!!). Brisbane was very nice but the choice between Greyhound vs. Virgin Blue dawned! 12 hours on a bus or 1.5 hours on a plane hhmmmmm???? Let me think???? I flew! Hitting Sydney I unfortunately had my camera stolen.. Luckily thanks to Nationwide I had the cash to buy a new one.. (thanks!!).. Thus I have been a bit quiet but also very very busy… I have now added some pictures of where we live.. I met up with my ol' pal Tom!! Our first week was spent mostly drinking but honeymoon period has now lapsed and the Job hunt has proceeded.. A beautiful city, I will get some more pics!!! Work or decent work has been tricky to find although lots of applications have come my way!! I have worked one week for a promotions team in the city unfortunately the hours Mon-Sat 11.00am till 11.00pm have taken their toll & am now looking for something more realistic!! Although a very cool office pumped with tunes and gongs to smash for sales, Indoor cricket, beers In the fridge & a Bar on the roof "you land that big fish Benny!" the hours are just crap! Have got some more work lined up tho so no need to worry! It was an experience I must admit! Very Interesting and a completely different office atmosphere I’ve ever experienced! It really was!!! More Importantly Tommy & myself got warmed up by a nice little Pomms Vs Aus game at Centennial Park this weekend.. With pride at stake the 20/20 tee'd off @ 11.30.. We were an hour late forgetting the clocks changed!!! So? Great start.. Linfield opened the bowling displaying the type of demon pace the hollowed grange road turf is used too!! No wicket - I was too good! Tom however fluked his way to 1 for… The Aussies were actually quite good! Too good for work cricket!! There epic total looked daunting. hhmm after the opener was sconed & taken to hospital, fear shook the England camp and like a deck of cards we folded.. The game was out of sight but pride was still at stake! Bienson bought his presence to the wicket (although In vain) he played shots Athertonesk to all four corners.. And yes boys an almighty 'SIX'… Stepping over to point the pick up & timing was well' Goweresk! Although we lost!! We finished in style & more Importantly I can hit a six!NEW JOB NOW GUYS WORKING IN A BANK WHEN THINGS GET MORE INTREASTING WILL LET YOU ALL KNOW!Righto' home away from home… Have started @ thoroughly got into work hence my silence.. The bank is pretty cool If u google the citigroup building In Syd. That’s where I'm working, working like a slave! But all is good peeps; they have free beer after work on a Friday! Even after when I get home to Bondi, I get some more free beer from my loving local the (Anonymous, till I leave Syd.) well deserved after a hard week.. In the mean time settling In has been a breeze, even though the cricket Is a slight shambles the aussies have been the first to remind me we're sh1t! Thanks boys! Thanks! I have to travel the city usually trying to disguise the sterling pommy accent my parents gave me.. Looking forward to xmas! Might be a bit hardcore, I think we've got gatecrasher on the beach after the Orphans BBQ? I'm not sure If I'm passed that or not? Rave on Bienson? & Tom? Ok’ for New years we're living It up on a cruise round the docs looking forward to taking some great pics of the bridge, & settling In to my champagne brekkie first thing! Till I spend all day In bed.. Or as u may of noticed getting burnt on the beach! In hindsight wherever I am I'll be sure to miss my family & mates.. Wishing them all a fantastic Christmas! & New Year!Parcial to my vitamin D, tho not burnt over Christmas!! Yay.. But burnt agin now.. Booooo... I kno a lot of people, back home may not be to bothered about the Cricket as u can tell I care.. Too much!! Unfortunatly a bond with my Country/ Team has left me scard.. As if a part of me has died.. The best approach to avoid banter is to keep quiet.. But common 2009... The Poms will be back on Top!!!!! Every monday morning tired but bubbly i'll be reminded my Team is rubbish & that my sun burn is still visible (Its obviously more Roman!!!). A quick witted responce is usualy is usually needed in these circimstances! So I tell them to f@k off!!!!! Incredibly made a lot of new friends @ Citi, taking a like to my french colleages! c'mon they don't understand cricket there great fun! New Years was incredible! We went to the rocks @ sydney as u can see the bridge was fantastic.. & incredibly, & I mean incredibly busy (1,000,000 people). Armed with the Gordon CC boys & Armed with there secret weapon the 'Sherminator' the world was our oyster! No joke this guy is no.1! Yes numero uno! He's the no.1 for .. dating in Aus.. He' would sh@g anything.. I dawned a hole new light on the term keane, what a ledgend! & he new it.. Hilarious & painfull we studied some coolies! He reminded me yes? Of a middle adged Mark Dutton.. As soon as Mark lerns to use a computor i'm sure the likliness will be uncanny!New years res under consstruction? Whilst I ponder how to better myself? Cough! hmmm... Ive given myself lots of time to think by purely watching a lot of Cricket in Jan. But, yes it is boring! Not as boring as Paul Collingwood though! I'll be looking to put myself up towards the greats Kelly Slater, Possibly every surfer in Bondi/ Manly.. It'll be about time to hit the surf! I know my nephew can do it so, i'll master it in no time! Unfortunatly in Bondi you have to get away with doing everything as cool as possibly.. Not saying i'm cool - unno'I struggle (lie) lol, a big blue boat like board, deosn't quite qualify in the Bondi surfing status! It'll be quite amusing.. After work everyother day I'm running the rocks from Bondi to bronte @ back, still @ blistering pace? obviously! hmmmm? Anyway It is quite a stunning view...
