The sheer cheek of it, people were trying their best to become successful, forming bands made up of intricate percussion and lyric writing, and this geezer comes along and makes it big playing a Spanish half size guitar and some stuff he'd nicked from his Grandma's kitchen, singing about whether or not his chewing gum lost any flavour if he stuck it on a bedpost. Pure genius, I'm sure you'll agree!
