The FireTree

About Me

Dale Buchan of The Firetree has been performing up and down the east coast of Australia for many years. A seasoned performer at the age of just 21, he is currently based on the Sunshine Coast, where he has developed a growing fanbase. Aptly described by one fan as "Jim Morrison does hip hop", Dale has one of the strongest sets of lungs on the coast and a set list of melodic, funky honest and original songs that captivate his audience.
Last year The Firetree performed at the Byron Bay Blues and Roots festival, where they took first place in the annual Buskers Competition and made their debut at the Woodford Folk Festival. The band has also won numerous Original Songwriting Competitions.
The FireTree have a brand new line up, with Josie Cubis now fronting the band with Dale. Josie Cubis released her debut solo album "Out of the Gardens" at 19 and has since been a regular performer around the Sunshine Coast area. Josie supported popular Australian artist Missy Higgins early last year and has been featured in both the LA and Chicago Times. Her velvety vocals and pop/folk songwriting style combined with Dale creates a truly unique and exciting sound.
Resonating original music. The Firetree sing socially conscious lyrics blending Pop, roots, reggae, rock and hip hop. Their music is unique, fresh and exciting. .

The FireTree will be releasing an album in coming months

"Dale Buchan is stunning - Blending a new breed of pop, funk & soul... His lyrics come at a time when we should all take note... Watch out, he's a musician to not only listen too and thoroughly enjoy, but to take heed,"

"After a full morning's browsing, we stopped to rest on a lawn where a lovely local singer named Josie Cubis was playing. A few days later, in a Noosa bookstore, her CD was playing, and she's now in heavy rotation on our iPod."
