The challenge: to keep from growing jaded.

About Me

"His songwriting is detailed and clever... the guy can sing, and clearly takes an incredible amount of joy in doing so. It's music that comes from a pure place, and that goes an awful long way..."
Casey Jarmen, 'Willamette Week'

"... set to give hometown Portland a taste of roots-rock with more kick than the rest!"
Nathan Skidmore,The Oregonian

"...[Hunter's band] will make you feel grateful to be alive."
Jeff Rosenburg, The Willamette Week
"Hunter’s music was exuberant — the perfect antidote to these depressing post-election days."
KPSU 'Hello Cruel World'
"[Hunter's music] may just save America from their homebound addiction to t.v. and d.v.d rentals, and bring them back to live music."
Jim Brunberg, Mississippi Studios Owner/songwriter

WELCOME! This page is surely like peeking through a small window of a large house. And just as we wear new clothes for a new day, here's how these songs sounded and were recorded on these particular days. I often drape these songs over my back and head out on tour around the country with other songwriters. They are lighter than they appear. Sometimes it is with the others in 'The Murdre Collective'. Sometimes these songs are a warm acoustic duo in the snows of Vermont. And sometimes they explode into a huge rock band with four vocalists. I am seeking collaborators to help create something that we will tour with, internationally . Be well, contact me, and stay tuned!

My Interests

Music:

Influences: so many bands that it squeezes my brain to think about it, my college roomate Lane Gibson, some of these great Portland Oregon bands, Friends, lovers, when one becomes the other, the spectrum of moods and melancholies, the human race's victories, those who sing with honest emotion, acoustic troubadours, Love, my Vermont home and backwoods slow, slow, sloooww lifestyle, city possibilities, explosions of mind and heart during my college years (outside of the classroom), my first road trip across this beautiful country, my travels through S.E. Asia, the loss and finding of friends and love, and dreams of the unknown to come...that's absolutely all though.... nope, nothing else at all... oh, and Everything.
Sounds Like: barometric harmonies falling uphill through dried leaves
