It was three years, 2 drummers, 3 bass players, 3 guitarists and 15000 litres of whiskey before twenty percent dead played a gig... Rehearsals started in 2004, in and that time people came in went, more time was spent fucking around than actually playing stuff and the band had no direction. We had Kenny on drums, Nev on guitar, and poggy on bass and Jim on vox and guitar. It fell apart when Kenny had to leave for work commitments. In Feb of 2005 Pog and Jim decided to give it another go...
Johnny Q was contacted to play the drums, initially he didn't want to. It'd been a few years since he'd played and more since he'd been in a band, Jim convinced him to give it shot. Rehearsals started in about March of 2005 and consisted mostly of covering some songs for fun and writing a few ourselves. After about 6 months with 5 originals written it was decided that we should get another guitarist, Rob was contacted and coaxed into coming up for a rehearsal.
With Rob on board the band had fatter sound and another contributor to the song writing process. More songs were written and in October 2005 we played our first gig, three songs in pub in Newbridge. It was awful. St. Patricks day of 2006 provided us with another opportunity and by all accounts we played well and got offered a gig in Killkenny on the back of it thanks to Barney from the mighty Clergy (rip) being in attendance. Two more gigs sandwiched a recording session in Richmond Studios where there songs were put down in two days. That summer a couple of poor gigs preceded bad news from Pog...
In August 2006 the band was rocked with the news that Pog was leaving to move to Iceland. After deciding that the reasonably poor weather in Ireland needed to be swapped for the bitter cold but beautiful Iceland Pog said his goodbyes left. 'Good Riddance' was something none of the band said. After looking for bass player and trying out a couple it was decided that we would concentrate on song writing for a while. With most of the Pog era songs dropped, the sound mutated into something heavier and more sinister, a couple more bass players came and left and in March 2006 Mik came along and fitted in straight away.
So now we've had a solid line up since March 2007, we've played a good few gigs and just wanna play more.
