WELCOME TO RICHMOND ROOTS REVIVAL!
*Supporting local, original music from Richmond, Virginia since 2004*
Richmond Roots Revival (RRR) began hosting a monthly concert series in October 2004 that was geared to be a platform for local bands and musicians who concentrated on original music. These shows were held at various venues in Richmond that supported local music. Various genres of music were showcased including rock, pop, Americana, roots, country, blues, bluegrass, jam and alt-country. Each show included an acoustic opener followed by two bands with complimentary styles of music. Always involved with every aspect of the monthly shows, RRR booked the various venues and bands to perform, promoted the shows, created and distributed flyers, updated the website with show and band information, ran sound for all shows, and supported the musicians in every way. To celebrate both our first and second year of monthly shows, we organized two showcases at Alley Katz in Richmond, each with an awesome line-up of entertainment. We were excited to have some great press from the local media about RRR and these events (see our Quotes page on the RRR website).
Many talented bands and musicians in Richmond have joined together on RRR stages. And they were not only able to share and increase their fan bases, but also got to connect and network with many great musicians and venues in the area. After two and a half years, Richmond Roots Revival has been proud to put over 75 different bands and acoustic musicians on 32 consecutive monthly shows. Richmond Roots Revival has also been involved with organizing the entertainment for many festivals and events in the area. We've been very proud to put some of the best bands in town on festival stages and helped make each event a success!
RRR will continue to host various shows spotlighting the best local music in Richmond and will also continue to be involved in booking entertainment for festivals and events.
