Someone who was made entirely out of metal. That would be sweet.
I hate labels. I hate when people say that they "hate country music" or that they "love ska" (these are, of course, examples, I also hate it when people say that they "hate ska" or that they "love country music", but I digress). They put themselves in these little boxes of things that are acceptable to like, and things that are acceptable to hate, all based on some arbitrary label that (in general) has nothing to do with any particular band (or even a given piece of music). It drives me insane. Who the hell cares if something is "punk" or if it's "metal" or whatever? The only thing I care about is whether or not something is good. I'll listen to anything, literally anything, if I think it will somehow escape the vast pit of mediocrity in which most of our culture is mired.
Authors whose work I enjoy include, but are not limited to Umberto Eco, Harlan Ellison, Ed McBain, George R. R. Martin, Terry Prachett, Joe R. Lansdale, Garth Ennis, Warren Ellis, Andrew Vachss, Isaac Asimov, Orson Scott Card, Kurt Vonnegut, Donald Westlake, Neil Gaiman, Frank Miller, William Goldman, David Eggars, Jon Krakauer, Alan Moore, Roger Zelazny, Will Eisner, John Irving, J. Michael Straczynski, Mark Danielewski, Malcolm Gladwell, Brian Michael Bendis, Theodore Sturgeon, and Robert Anton Wilson. Actually this list could go on basically forever, I really like to read.
