Hey, Whats up? This is D.A., Coach of the Hurra Hurra. The Hurricanes were formed in 1999 to compete in the Boston Open, NPPL. After taking 6th place, the team decided to stay together to play national 10-man events. From 1999 to 2002 the team played in 17 10-man events, making the semi-finals 13 times.
In 2003, the Hurricanes moved from 10-man to X-Ball. We picked up players from NY and started practicing almost every weekend with NYX. We ended up taking 3rd place in LA, 1st in Las Vegas and 2nd at the World Cup, finishing the year as the 3rd ranked Division 2 X-Ball team.
In 2004, the team moved away from X-Ball and became the flagship team for Redz International. We played in the NPPL Super-7 Series as a professional team, taking on the name of our primary sponsor and playing as the Redz Hurricanes. We exceeded our expectations in 2004, placing in the semi-finals at 4 events and posting victories over such impressive teams as Shock, Infamous, Ironmen, Joy Division, NYX, Nexus and others. We finished the year as the 9th ranked Pro team.
Going into 2005, the team and Redz separated, and the team brought back its original name, the New England Hurricanes. Supported by our new sponsors; Planet Eclipse, XO Industries, Custom Sports Gear, East Side Paintball Park, R7 and DYE, we continued in the NPPL Pro division and finished the season ranked 8th.
In 2007 we merged with NYX, and became the NY Hurricanes in the NXL. We continue in the NPPL Super 7 as the NE Hurricanes.
There is much more to come, as the Hurricanes push on toward the top.
