My love of music was kick-started when I was four years old by my mother, who introduced me to Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder. I knew so little about music; I don’t remember even questioning how the records were played, though I do remember trying to moonwalk. I think I nearly had it nailed by the time I became less interested in Michael and more in his all-star line up of drummers.
Studying influences like Leon 'Ndugu' Chancler, Jeff Porcaro and many others after I took up the drums came to be a great source of inspiration. This learning curve took me on a roller-coaster ride through more genres of music than I knew existed and I'm still learning.
Throughout my career I've played with some truly gifted musicians and have taught many aspiring drummers how to plot a course for their own musical journey.
My only wish for the future is to stay inspired.
