Ever since I was a young child Ive been into music. My Mother and Father were always playing 80's records. I guess as a child my father playing the piano and guitar motivated me As well as the heavy rotation of different styles of records playing at all times. Hall and Oats to Depeche Mode.... Billy Ocean to Stevie Wonder...
I grew up in Oxnard California for the most part of my teens. I started making beats and DJ'n in a lab with "David/Digital Product's" back in 99.Starting off with records: DJ Spooky to Mix Master Mikes and older break records. I decided then that I was meant to DJ and make beats and to take it seriously. Hearing The Shigger Fragger CD featuring Q-bert, Mixmaster Mike, Apollo, and D-Styles made me focus on becoming a Battle Scratch DJ.
B-Boy Breaks ran my life. New Skool, Old skool anything I could get my hands on. Oxnard being a great cultural melding pot helped me be open and grow without being stuck up or an ass about my DJ skills. Local groups like THE LOOTPACK and MADLIB started the fire in me that never would burn out. The Beat Junkies and L.A. Crews got me involved into showing up @ local shows and LA Shows. Show after show I couldnt get enough of expanding my horizons through music. Always finding these great people and great music, at shows I started to notice I was the one taking my friends in the Ventura Area to shows out in LA "and farther" and giving mixtapes and mix cd's to them getting them hype about the sound that is rarely ever played on the radio if at all.
The Wax just kept growing and my styles kept evolving.
I found after 2 years of non stop breaks, and finally owning my own tables mastering scratching it was time to integrate my style with Jungle/ Drum and Bass.
In LA the scene was and is growing more and more, and the new records coming out at the time and now kept me wanting to learn how to grasp the style. Seeing World Famous Goldie, DJ Craze,A-Trak and Photek, and DJing with friends at house partys really motivated me to step up to the plate. The last 3 years I've been mastering my style. Being as Diverse as possible Practicing with good friends, Bridging and mixing styles, trying to light fires in others as has been done to me. Drum and Bass with its many styles and forms never stops amazing me. I don't think Ill be leaving this scene anytime soon. I'm in it till the very end. Even after most will think its dead....I'll still be doin my thing.
Soon I will be releasing tunes of my own. I use a Korg Electribe to compose most of my music while adding samples and such with my Turntables. I'm addicted to basslines and great synth programs. If you ever want to collaborate let me, hit me up.
I currently commute to L.A. offen for my club called TILT. I have been running bi-weekly's/Monthly's @ The Airliner, Jimmys Lounge and now The Echoplex for almost a year now. Opened Homework Mondays then moved on to TILT L.A.
