About Me

Hello, my name is Latrice Michelle Dennies. I was born on July 21, 1976 in St. Petersburg, FL. My mother was very young, so I was adopted by my aunt at an early age. I have three younger brothers, and have lived in St. Petersburg all my life. I attended Lynch Elementary, Morgan Fitzgerald Middle, and Dixie Hollins High School. I also attended St. Petersburg College and the University of South Florida for a short time. I have been married for seven years to Arthur Dennies Jr. We have a six year old daughter, Arnesha. We also have a Yorshire Terrier pup named Andy. I am a member of Genesis Worship Center Church, and am a part of the Praise and Worship Ministry. When I graduated highschool I became the coordinator of a youth group called Help the World Youth Club. One of my younger brothers was the founder. Shortly thereafter I started working at the Bayfront Child Development Center. There I worked with infants and two year olds. I loved it, but it wasn't paying me the money I felt I could be making. So, I started working for Equifax Payment Services. I was making more money, but the work wasn't very fulfilling. Then the opportunity arose for me to make even more money. So I started working for Franklin Templeton Investments. Yes, the pay was excellent, but the work was not. Eventually I left the company and did some customer service jobs. I learned that being glued to a head set all day wasn't for me either. Last year I realized that I was almost thirty years old, and still wasn't in a fulfilling job position or career. I took sometime and evaluated myself, my life, and what was important to me. I realized that really the only time I enjoyed work was when I was working with children. It was fun and fulfilling. So I decided that I wanted to be a teacher. Since then I've been working as a two year old teacher at Gingerbread School in the Carillon Center. I truly love it! My goal is to one day become a kindergarten teacher. Right now I'm trying to get all the knowledge and education I can to become the best pre-school teacher I can be.Dennies, Latrice Michelle 31, of St. Petersburg, passed on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007, at St. Anthony's Hospital.
