I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

This is my interim description after, on ongoing, years long remolding after the crucible that's been my life. Try it sometime, it's really fun.Self description? Well, it's a bit challenging for me but heck, I'll give it a try; I-Life's changes allow me more chances for personal growth. -I enjoy time on my own, but I also very much treasure those precious times shared with good friends and other fine folks.-I love my family, another of life's challenges and great joys-This part of my life is another adventure. I'm going for it.-I am interested in life and have always had a desire to learn. more. Some other stuff;*****To be updated and moved or delelted as soon as possible - totally under construction***** my little baba ganoush! ( insert smiley face here.)****There were some dunderheads, but that doesn't really matter as much anymore. Why worry about the dunderheads when one can enjoy some nice baba ganoush? **** I like enjoying and rejoicing in life. life is ever changing and evolving. It's good that way - not static, one can change for the better in an instant or even consider it a journey.) It's as though some sort of underground spring just, well, you know....quick update; I am absolutely lovable just that way that I am. I've been having some significant challenges. Could it be the Universe finally getting trough? Do I need to be grateful for every day? Do I do what I can to move in the direction of positive change and see what wondrous place that wave takes me? I'll take my chances now, thank you. For example, I loved surfing, and falling, in the Pacific.I heard this play on a book title that cracked me up; "Chicken Poop for the Soil," Failure is Fertilizer" so get in there and wallow in it!quick update; I choose positive fulfilling thought. I choose to fill my life with Joy.I'm more of a Mark Wahlberg, David Straithhearn (sp?), the guy that plays in "The Bourne" Movies...," Johnny Depp, Jason Bateman, Steve Martin and so on fan. I loved Humphry Bogart when I was a kid, and oh damn - what's his name, I met his son at Los Alamitos - TBD and updated. I wanted to be like Ingrid Bergman and oh, I'll update with some more... Was Steve McQueen Hot in the original "Thomas Crown Affair, or what? I just saw it and what a great movie! I wanted to look like Faye Dunaway when I was a youngster. I'm lovable just the way I am, but make no claims to Hollywood bombshell attributes. mmmmm, Sawyer. When does "LOST" start up again?I believe that the human condition is more complex and wondrously varied than what is shown on the evening news or read in the papers. life is complex and actually wondrous and can be extremely challenging. One's choice of perspective is very important. Sometimes. Someone told me that they enjoy the way that I act out my stories. I was so delighted, and maybe a little embarrassed, that I busted out laughing.I think that it's worth mentioning that, during a conversation with a friend that involved some of my understanding of cosmology and physics related subjects (one of my passions), he acted shocked that I even had such thoughts. What does this say? I'll put it this way; I'm interested in some complex subjects and sometimes people don't realize it.I want to return to trying to learn to sprecke german and learning hablar spanish - maybe using cd-rom and, maybe, dropping in on one of those language groups at that greek restaurant in the U District.I salivate when I'm watching one of those particularly good travel shows,e.g; one about travelling to the former Soviet province of of Georgia. It's wonderful on so many levels - puts a "face" on recent events and makes it more than just a blurb on the evening news (I have to admit I have to look up what's happened since the recent Russian invasion.) And if those troubles are past, i would hope that I could go and enjoy the uncrowded ski slopes and friendly people that insist one drinks vodka with every meal and the history of this country, and Caucasus Mountains, that in Europe's "Great Divide." (quote from show.) My dream destinations are pretty much unlimited. I don't know about the middle east, though, unless it was with a friend with experience-and connections in the area.Besides discussing my point of view, I also enjoy the following;I like to buy books (I even sometimes read them), review movie schedules, think about signing up for that yoga class (the right teacher shows up at the right time, right?), look for my glasses, promise myself that I will "draw daily," lose my jewelry, wake up with a start in strange places and wonder who the hell are are these people next to me-then I pull cord for the next bus stop- look for the remote control(s), try to clean my home - by using the power of psychokinesis (sp?), stare at people in another car until they look at me, then turn away real quickly - at 70 mph on the freeway. (Insert smiley face here - or Munch's ,"The Scream.) "my little baba ganoush!"

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

people that like to laugh and have discussions on a variety of topics, enjoy learning and living and has at least some life experience.I am most interested in making wonderful friends at this point, though I can see a perfect mate for me in my future.my little baba ganoush! (insert wry smiley face here)people that can see the humor in someone writing,"my little baba ganoush!" in their profile could be fun to be around. I'll probably change that to "dear reader," or something else. I'll see. It's always good to see my new friend Pan. I don't think that he would mind if I mentioned his name here. It is platonic and we have so much to talk about - especially since I don't see him in class twice a week anymore, but what do you know - he works up the street from where I work so we get to visit. Yay! I'd like to meet someone who wants to go with me to me places like the coast, try some surfing, go on a hike, try snowshoeing, and nordic skiing, discuss ideas, to go out for dinner and good wine and conversation, breakfast is good too. Why don't we just meet for some beverage and go from there?"Fun-loving, easy-going, good-natured, genuine folks that like to get out and see the world, or even just to check out a new restaurant, music venue, or walk through the Arboretum or Discovery Park, hike in the Cascades or Olympics, or explore on bike; enjoy good conversation, and quiet times too, that have creative and intellectual tendencies-even active in those areas."That's still true. The events of the last year or so have left my view a bit tattered and worn, but still colorful. I sometimes do something or go somewhere, and I usually don't talk about "relationships" or dating, maybe an occassional mention of setting up a profile.Meeting people that like dogs, animals, pets - that'd be nice.People that take responsiblity for their own feelings and are pursue their own creativity and are comfortable with others creative pursuits.I'd like to meet people that think that movies like "office space" is funny. Ok, if that's too much, "Caddy Shack is a good second." I would really like to meet people that liked, "Deconstructing Harry and/or "The Way Things Go, for example." The movie list is not limited to those listed here. Anchorman makes me laugh dammit!I'd like to meet people that are friendly, fun, creative and supportive of me and realize that there's a give and take in any relationship. It would be the best to meet someone that makes me laugh and that I can laugh with and talk with. I'd like to meet and know people that have empathy for others and understand what that means. I often have some memorable exchanges with visual (mostly) artists. I used to often frequent shows in the local music scene. It was pretty exciting to me to meet some wonderful and talented people. I was grateful for that. I finally realized that I needed to direct my energies elsewhere, though. I am more into my own art and life now and saving my energy for that. Also, someone that might want to head down to Norms's with the dog(s) and get a bite and some brewskis. After we pick up some dog treats from the shop across the street, of course.People with access to metal art studio /foundary equipment that I may use or pay to use.People that go the the painting or drawing meet ups in Seattle.People that like to walk, or hike, around, city or country. I like to bike, but now is not the best time for me. (update; It's gotten better - bicycling could happen soon, yay!If you love life; going to shows, enjoying the abundance of life, travel-world and domestic, gardening, ideas, discussing ideas, history, politically savvy, loving, the beach, the water, hiking, maybe some art interests, meeting for happy hour, like to read books, have lunch, or even make lunch, and more then I would like to meet you.
