About Me

Maria "Icey" Lee is a young and passionate R&B/Hip-Hop artist. Although new to Myspace, she has been making music in the Twin Cities since she was 12 years old. Starting out merely singing along to Michael Jackson and TLC albums, Icey wrote her first song at the age of 11. Working alongside her best friend and classmate, Jamie Nunn, the girls formed the group Reflection. Together, they wrote, arranged, and performed a number of songs at talent shows, cabarets, and open mics around the Twin Cities.***************************************************** **********Once Reflection reached high school, the girls went their diferent ways, but Icey did not stop performing. She went on to write and arrange many solo songs, performing them at any event she could find. During her sophmore year of high school, she began recording her first demo CD at her highschool, MTS (Minnesota Transitions Charter School). It was there that she met her Sound Studio teacher, Jon Smith, who helped her to record and produce all of her songs to come.******************************************************* ********In 2002, Icey had finnished her first recorded song, "Somethin' For The People". She then produced a music video to the song and dedicated it in the memory of Tanisha Edwards, an 11 year old girl and innocent bystander who was shot in her living room while doing her homework as a result of gang violence.Following the production of "Somethin' For The People", Icey went on to record other songs such as "A Game", "Lettin' It Go", and was featured on the underground hit "Tonight" by DTM.A year later, Icey collaborated with long time friend Convict on her 2003 street anthem, "I Know".****************************************************** *********Since then, Icey has been working on a new album and is currently attending school for massage therapy at a local university. Although keeping busy with college life, Icey's passion and hunger to share her gift with the world still burns. Following graduation, she plans to finish recording her demo and begin distribution. "My dreams are about to become reality, and those who didn't believe will be very surprised. I have much more up my sleave than they could ever imagine!" -ICEY
