Zebedy Rays WORCESTER 11TH JULY

About Me

How I made my profile:
I used Dave & Jay's amazing myspace profile editor .
A single snare cracks through the darkness… a cymbal crashes… a bass riffs in the shadows…
A guitar screeches as it flies against the mic stand, scraping out a sound that resembles the death rattle of a super-sonic plane… The lights explode… ZEBEDY RAYS are here!

After two years of performing all over the country, ZEBEDY RAYS are ready to seal their reputation as the most exciting three-piece band in the UK.
Picking up early sponsorship from Hughes and Kettner, they have broken loose of their native Worcestershire, extensively touring clubnights and festivals along with bands including Untitled Musical Project, Gravity Crisis and The Rocks. An EP and an album on The Little Hellfire Club Records were released, naturally bringing the band exposure on Radio One (Steve Lamacq and Huw Stephens) and Kerrang Radio.

Now gearing up to release their best single to date, 'This Generation', 2009 will see ZEBEDY RAYS gain even greater success.
REVIEWS
"BRILLIANT!"
HUW STEVENS
BBC RADIO ONE
"A great band! Expect to hear more from them in the future..."
EMMA SCOTT
KERRANG! RADIO
"The best live act in the two counties."
ANDY O HARE
BBC HEREFORD AND WORCESTER
"Some fine edgy yet melodic guitar led corkers! As if Andy Summers had joined The Strokes, there's a taut yet funky rhythm section and the singer's suitably unhinged throughout. I also detect early afro period Jon Spencer, but generally there's a lot of twists and turns in the overall sound and they have a knack of pulling a great hook outta the bag every tune."
BUGBEAR PROMOTIONS
Fanbloodytastic - breathtaking, octane fuelled, 'raw rock'n'roll' from this incredible young trio. Rammed with raw energy, overflowin' with originality and burstin' with potential. Zebedy Rays take contemporary rock'n'roll by the scruff of the neck, turn it upside down, kick it way into touch and run rampant with whatever's left!!
TOXIC PETE

"Croaky vocals and catchy heavy indie riffs. Their debut single 'Religion' is a highlight of theirs, full of upbeat drum beats and distinguishable riffs. It has been done before, but is that a bad thing? Not when the music is good..."
NEW MUSIC PROMOTIONS
“Powerful, bluesy rockers, with dextrous guitar playing showing off their high skill rating. Direct and thrashy, sounding like a dirtied-down Strokes… those missing Supergrass will like what they hear.”
SOUNDSXP
"Although it may be unintentional, Zebedy Rays have managed to sound like The Minute Men jamming with Kings of Leon. Definitely worth a watch!"
SPOONFED LONDON
"It is obvious that these guys must put on a great show by the sheer energy of these four songs. With Josh Powell's drum work keeping everything perfectly in time and up beat, Danny Meigh's bass lines are as groovy as they come and, when the three combine, they sound like a band that have been together for much longer than they have."
PENNYBLACKMUSIC
"The Zebedy Rays are really worth getting off your arse and going to watch. This EP shows they have all the charm and musical skill to trouble the mainstream with their brand of rock n roll. God knows how they became this good in under a year?"
THE PLASTIC ASHTRAY
"Zebedy Rays play with so much passion and energy they are greeted by their fans like the Second Coming these days.”
POPART DIGEST
“Energetic urgent scratch blues-edged lo-fi wrong pop clatterness that tastes rather like The Fall barking and yelping at the Strokes and demanding throat lozenge shaped attention.”
ORGAN MAGAZINE
“Kings of Leon in a drinking contest with Pharoah Sanders and the Fall!”
SOUNDSXP
"Zebedy Rays are one seriously hot prospect."
RHYTHM & BOOZE MAGAZINE
"These boys are a tight, energetic three piece... great stuff."
NIGEL CLARKE, DODGY
"With a sound not unlike The Strokes hanging out with The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion at a Fall gig."
