Helicoid - demo v1.0 (Year 2000)
All the way from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Helicoid provides everyone a great time with distorted poppy guitars and melodic female vocals. The happy lyrics and sometimes metal (!) attitude made this band a reference in the Southeast Asian indie scene, which is actually very prolific. These kids are all fast tempo punk rockers with classical music formation. You may think of Cibo Matto and Shonen Knife when listen to the singer's lovely accent. Join these oriental influences to the purest guitar pop music like The Wannadies, Letters to Cleo and Ash, and you should get it.
