in 1985 scientists discovered a strange cellular structure occurring in the fetal stage of a mollusk, it appeared that although having all the normality's of a ctenophore it also had a strange new cellular body. in 1986 this new breed was born. It had a see though membrane like a jellyfish and could change color and texture to describe its mood similarly to the cuttlefish, although this breed had twice as many tentacles. scientist's began by testing the mollusk's intelligence, starting with basic color and audio recognition test's. these test's proved the new breed had similar characteristics and brain function to human's and a surprising interest in sound. in 1995 scientist's set up an Amiga 500 with some basic music production software. to there amazement the mollusk thrived at learning the software and using all 16 tentacles began to construct intricate lo-fi music. The Mollusk mainly focused on producing down tempo music. and in that same year started to type English text , the first question we asked was what are you describing in your music? the response was "i am writing my dreams into music to remember them forever". After a while The Mollusk became another one of the scientist's, and was removed from captivity. Over the years the complexity and richness of his production became truly apparent with his first underground release of "Hot Air Balloon" in 2003. This album contained fast glitching analog and acoustic recordings with smooth, luscious, floating synthesized pad's. in mid 2004 The Mollusk got back in the lab and started to experiment with a glitch'y upbeat dance vibe. taking inspiration from 70's Funk, Disco, Electro and the wobbling dub-step. This has been his main focus for the recent years. In 2008 The Mollusk was signed to Omelet Record's. (An Australian' based, Indie label). right now The Mollusk is back in the studio for his debut Album release on Omelet which is looking to release late 2009.
