Najima's version: What happened was...There was this Guy, named Ned, and he told this girl, named Najima that if she wanted, she could dance in his band and maybe even shake a tambourine.Isn't that just like man?But this girl named Najima had her own diabolical plan... basically she'd always wanted to be in a band and she didn't just want to shake the tambourine or her ass (although it's a well know fact that she's famous for doing both)...So she sang Ned a song, I think it was Wonder Wall, and he played her the guitar. Plus, their Sun signs were compatible...So, they combined to form a science. What's left to say? NED'S VERSION: I had this idea to throw dance parties with blues music. when i listen and play that's what i see, is people shakin' there shit! not all blues, of course, is dance music. hunker down with Reverend Gary Davis'; "death don't have no mercy", and try dancing with all that salt water in your pathetic jewlies. then put on Bukka Washington White, and try not to feel that milkshake creep up(hey ladies!). One night i was at a Holly Golightly concert, and Holly said:" ain't anybody out there gonna dance?" Then a girl came through. rippin' a lightning bolt tear through a sea of negative swirling ions! and i have to say the volume was then turned to eleven(see spinal tap!). me and Najima didn't get together for a long time after that, but i am so happy we did. When i first approached Najima to play music singing was an option, and out came this beautiful, soulful voice, and i'm stilltryin' to catch up!
