About Me

Updated: I am almost never on MySpace, given that it's blocked at work, and I have better things to do when not at work. Best places to find me are Livejournal (user id: stacyking ) and Twitter ( stacyking ).
I'm currently querying for my latest middle-grade urban fantasy novel, working on a new YA project, and webslinging for a nice bunch of enviro-hippy government folks.
When not writing or procrastinating about writing, I can generally be found in a movie theatre, wandering around Toronto looking for curious angles, or reading voraciously.
Also, I make pvc clothing. And I screenprint. So now I screenprint on pvc clothing. I sell pieces on a commission/custom basis right now, and also provide fabric yardage for designers. Please email me for further details and quotes.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Somebody who resembles Johhny Depp, at least around the kidneys.
Realistically, people who think the above is funny ha-ha, not funny call-the-police.

My Blog

MoCCA in New York

It looks like I am definitely going to New York with Zub for MoCCA - which is an indie comic creator con, for you non-nerds - from June 23-24. We're hoping to hang out for a few extra days, provided ...

Slacking for Spring

For those who haven't heard, my most recent work contract has wrapped up early, setting me free just in time for spring! I'm already a decent plot outline and a few thousand words into a new novel, s...

Not a New York minute

Now that I know three folks who are pimping their wares at the upcoming New York comic con, I sort of wish I'd decided to go when the topic came up. Ray Fawkes will be there with Oni Press (I think -...

The joys of reverse insomnia

It's just plain insomnia, really, but instead of staying up late, I wake up early. Like 5 a.m. early. On a good day. Given that most of my social life revolves around staying up late at various poo...

and so we return to begin again

Once again, I am sitting around far too early in the morning, wondering to myself: Melinda, what *have* you gotten me in to this time? At least the familiar stench of tequila is missing, and there ...
