Andrew Acquista is fluent in Afro-Brazilian, Afro-Cuban, Afro-Caribbean, West African, and American styles. He performs as a melodic soloist on the Steel Drum for Nu Pan Groove, he is the principal conga player for salsa big band Orqesta La Fiebre, and plays a variety of ecclectic percussion instruments for MILI MILI. Reggae Motion is another group in which Andrew can be seen playing Brazilian style reggae. Andrew has performed all over LA and has been seen on national network television on the Star Tomorrow show with Mili Mili. Andrew also performs with master drummer Dramane Kone in his group Ballet Djelia Kadi. Andrew also actively plays lead Djembe and accompaning Dunun for West African Dance classes in and around LA. He has also played and recorded for San Francisco's own Crash Landing.

Ladzekpo (Ewe drumming), Michael Spiro(Afro-Cuban drumming), Mark Lamson (Afro-Brazilian drumming), Lansana Kouyate (West African Djembe and Dunun drumming) Brad Dutz (studio percussion techniques, composition) Dr. Eugene Novotney (Steel Drum, Marimba, classical percussion), Dr. Michael Carney (Gyile, Vibraphone) and Michael Cox (Mbira).
