The Good Land

Former member of Gainesville band Maxwell Edison now flying solo. ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------This band, The Good Land, is based on a group of songs I have been working for the past six months or so. For a long time I've been wanting to make a concept album. Not so much a psychedelic Dark Side of the Moon type concept album, but one that was simple -- an album whose musical theme ran smoothly throughout the tracks while the lyrics painted a picture of how the world looked from my perspective at a time in my life when I questioned everything that seemed worth questioning, and then often went a step further and wasted time questioning things that probably didn't deserve my precious brain power. The world started looking different to me. Certain things in my life were slowing down while other things seem to end too soon, almost like the end of it all. Life always seems so much more dramatic when it's your own you're watching, doesn't it? ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------Hopefully everyone has gone through a period like this -- questioning those things in your life that you take for granted; like God, your friends, yourself...pondering those quintessential queries which drive so many awakened thinkers to the edge of insanity -- I know I have been through those periods and I still am, thankfully. The moment I stop wondering, pondering, and wandering is the moment my life starts to get boring, and what a drag that would be. ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------So I don't know whether this album will capture any of the many musings from that last rant to which you were just subjected, but I think you will enjoy it nonetheless once you give a listen. ------------------------------------------------------------ -----------------------------Come and see The Good Land whenever you can.
