Let me start off by telling you a little about myself. The first thing that I won’t you to know about meis I’m gay. I’ve been out of the closet for almost 20 years now. I do have a 19 year old daughter with a nice girl I was living with backwhen I was in the closet. There is a long story to this, something we can discuss later. I’m 40-years-old Caucasian male, 6’tall and weigh in about 200. I have blonde hair, hazel eyes, and wear glasses. I was born in New Smyrna Beach, FL but was raised in the TampaBay area of Florida. About 5 years ago I moved here to Moore, SC, which is a suburb of Spartanburg. Spartanburg is a small rural city, nice, quiet, and sometimes a boring place to live. I moved here to be closer to my family that moved here 3 years prior to me moving here. I don’tregret moving here, and don’t really miss the big city life that much. What I do miss is my huge network of friends, but the serenity thatcomes from living in a rural area kind of makes up for it.I jumped around through a few careers, Ranging from pastry chef to cabinetmaker, before landing on my feet as a cosmetologist. I’ve been a hairstylist for almost 18 years now and have loved every minute of it. I enjoyworking with people, and making them look better than when I first met them. I currently work at a JC Penney’s styling salon here inSpartanburg. I work with a great group of ladies, and make decent money. I’ve made some big changes in my life, as I got closer to turning40. Most of my 20’s and early 30’s I was a big time partier. You name it I have probably done it. But I started to get burnt out onconstantly being on the go, and the club scene, and the drinking. I will admit I still party on occasion but NOTHING like I did a few yearsago. Now I lead a more sedentary lifestyle. More relaxed, I read a lot more now. I read about 2-3 books a month, thriller, suspense, sci-fi,and fantasy novels mostly. My favorite TV viewing is mainly The Sci-Fi channel, even with its dumb “B†movies. Actually I don’t really watchthat much TV, I just use it as background noise while I play on my PC. I’ve always been a big fan of Sci-fi/Horror movies, so I have a hugecollection of VHS and DVDs. My favorite Sci-fi movie is “Aliens†(the second Alien movie). I do watch other kind of movies, but Sci-fi/Horroris always at the top of the list. I am, have always been, and will always be a gaming fan. I started when I was about 12 years old playingthe early editions of Dungeons & Dragons. I’ve played so many different RPG (Role Playing Game) titles I can’t list them all. But my 2 mainfavorites are Champions superhero RPG, and AD&D. As I got older I moved onto computer gaming. I still enjoy PnP (paper and pencil) gaming ifI could find some people to play here in this small town. I had my first computer when I was 17, a Commodore 64. For a short time I even gotinto building PC machines. But now I just play games and browse the web. I tend to be drawn toward RPG type PC games. Right now I’m playing“The Sims 2: Night Life†which is a life simulator game. For a while I was heavy into MMORPGs (Mass Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) butthey get tedious after a time. I also like to do outdoorsy like things even though I have not done any of them in a while. I use to gocamping all the time when I lived in Florida. As well as hang out on the beach, horseback riding, and hiking. I don’t know why I haven’t doneany camping now that I’m near the mountains, maybe it’s because I don’t have to many friends to go with. I’m having trouble meeting like-minded people here in the Carolinas. I’m not big on talking about religion, but I thought you should know. I’m an atheist. This does not makeme a bad person, even though living in the Bible belt it’s not looked on to pleasantly. Maybe if there was one over all religion it would beeaser to believe, but with all the contradictions it makes it hard. This is one of those topics I’d be just as happy not to discuss. But ifyou want to know more about why I feel the way I do feel free to ask. Just be prepared for the hard truths I have in my mind on this subject.
