Why Wasn't I Born A Coyote?
I hear the call of a loner, then of the whole pack.
It's beauty fills my heart and I draw closer,
wondering...why wasn't I born a coyote?
But I was born to be a man, and being who I am I wonder
how much longer until another man decides the pack should not exist?
With man eyes I see a forest destined to become timber,
my heart sees a home. A home to coyote, hawk, bat,
groundhog, crow, robin, fox, cardinal, blue jay, panther...
my man eyes see only so much, my heart feels so much more.

2001
Yeah, Coyotes aren't native to Tennessee but wolves are non-existent in West TN anyway. Coyotes have been in this area about as long as I have and I've heard them or seen them plenty. So, coyotes are familiar to me.
Remember, "True men don't kill coyotes"- RHCP.

The Brain Test
What Your Brain Says About How You Think and Learn
Jeremy, you are Balanced-brained
That means you are able to draw on the strengths of both the right and left hemispheres of your brain, depending upon a given situation.
When you need to explain a complicated process to someone, or plan a detailed vacation, the left hemisphere of your brain, which is responsible for your ability to solve problems logically, might kick in. But if you were critiquing an art opening or coming up with an original way to file papers, the right side of your brain, which is responsible for noticing subtle details in things, might take over.
While many people have clearly dominant left- or right-brained tendencies, you are able to draw on skills from both hemispheres of your brain. This rare combination makes you a very creative and flexible thinker.
The down side to being balanced-brained is that you may sometimes feel paralyzed by indecision when the two hemispheres of your brain are competing to solve a problem in their own unique ways.
You are a Self-Discoverer
You're not religious, but you've created your own kind of spirituality.
Introspective and thoughtful, you tend to look inward for the divine.
You are distrusting of all forms of organized religion.
You especially dislike religious gurus and leaders, who you feel are charlatans. What's Your Religious Philosophy?
Wilfred Owen's Poem "The Parable of the Old Man and the Young"
Thanks to assimilation I know next to nothing of my Native American heritage. All that I was told is that I have Cherokee ancestors both paternally and maternally. No, I am not enrolled. I do not intend to pass myself off as anything other than I am... someone who wishes to follow what's in my heart and learn about myself as I do so.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Creative free-spirits that stand up to oppression and censorship.

"I have Indian blood in me. I have just enough White blood for you to question my honesty." ........Will Rogers

"It's about greed, it's not about racism," says Sainte-Marie, when asked about the root of First Nation peoples' ongoing problems. "Racism is just a tool for the greedy people, like religion ... We can blame religion and racism and the other social entities, but really, it's the power and the greed behind it." - Buffy Sainte-Marie

Unfortunately, people of the whole world suffer the effects of greed and it's tools.

William Wilberforce- another lilly-livered liberal.

"If voting changed anything it would be illegal"- Emma Goldman.
I do vote but it feels like that sometimes.

"Professed patriotism may be made the cover for a multitude of sins".- Robert C. Winthrop.
I caught that quote while reading Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee. There are so many more I would like to include here.

"Religion is not in the purview of human government. Religion is essentially distinct from civil government, and exempt from its cognizance; a connection between them is injurious to both."- James Madison.Try telling the religious right that.
