Let me introduce myself- if you're still reading this, thanks for the interest. My name is FAYOLA which means 'one who walks with honor' and I try to keep up with that image. I am a singer/songwriter-born and raised in Trinidad , Yeh Yeh!-with lots of vocal influences from gospel, negro spirituals, soul, neo soul and even classical music which I was introduced to in my college years in NYC. Following this experience with choral music, I developed a love for acapella pieces and from there went on to jazz and currently Neo soul. My journey has been somewhat peculiar because I was raised in Trinidad and naturally paid attention to mostly soca, reggae, steelpan and mainstream R&B. But when I first heard Erykah Badu's On and On on BET, I knew I loved what she did and so continued to follow her and D'Angelo's trend of music because I first noticed her in his video. So with all this said, this is me, Fay Ola, an up and coming artist who knows that she has a message for everyone in her songs. She keeps it real in her lyrics and tends to have a lot to say.
