Deb§ter & Co

I'm ju§t a §imple mom-bear trying to protect her cub§!

About Me

Je§§e and Zoe'§ mom, wife, §i§ter, teacher, lawyer, friend, confidante, arti§t, writer, CURVE§ exerci§er, life traveler, flaquita (for tho§e of you who don't know §panish ... §kinny, minny). We (my husband and I) §pend a lot of time at our daughter§' event§ (at least while daughter #1 was §till home-§he's in §an Francisco developing into the mo§t famou§ arti§t in the United §tates). Now it is volleyball and ba§ketball game§ a§ well a§ track meet§ all over New Mexico and the United §tate§. We are loud, raucou§ and her bigge§t §upporter§. Probably the hardest part of cheering her on is trying to decide what to say when she loses. She is truly gifted athletically and she doesn't understand why other girls can't perform up to her level and standard.I saw this saying on another profile, but like it VERY much: "Thoughts become things - choose good ones."Myspace Graphics

My Interests

Reading, making art, resting/relaxing (although I don't get much time for that), teaching, exercising, some shopping, spending time with family and a few select friends ... maybe having a couple of glasses of wine.

A few quality individuals ... if you don't have qualities then I guess I don't need to meet you.

Music:

A little bit of everything ... rock (mostly old), reggae, classical, some jazz, cumbia, tejano. The only thing I really CANNOT stand is country. It makes me jittery.

Movies:

I don't watch many movies these days, but when I did ... Funny Girl, Godfather I, The Last Samurai, Little Drummer Girl, Troy, Stigmata, Dogma, Patriot (Mel Gibson's movie), Dances With Wolves, Fatal Attraction. Mostly they have to have excellent story lines and even better character development. I get bored easily.

Television:

I don't watch too much TV these days, but when I did ... Thirty Something, Northern Exposure, Chicago Hope, ER, LA Law, NYPD Blue, The Sopranos (my nearly all time favorite), OZ. Again, I used to like TV series because they had excellent story lines that were able to be sustained week to week and even better character development; you felt like you knew the characters.

Books:

I read a LOT of books. They are mostly thrillers that could possibly be real. They don't have to be real - probably shouldn't be real - I don't like to think there are such psychos running around on the streets, but authors like ... Jonathan Kellerman, Iris Johansen, Tess Gerritson, James Patterson, Kathy Reichs, Douglas Preston, John Sandford, David Baldacci, Patricia Cornwell (although I think she has lost her cutting edge of late), Robert Tanenbaum, and of course I have fallen for Dan Brown (the DaVinci Code and all of his other books).

Heroes:

Bill and Hillary Clinton - they live their life to the fullest. They know what they want, they go after it and public polls be damned! They go to the edge and back. And besides they have raised an incredibly successful daughter!
