Originally from Chicago, Joel started playing the drums in the fourth grade and hit the club scene at the ripe age of fifteen. Quickly, he knew drumming would be a life long passion, so he immersed himself in every playing situation possible and now prides himself as being an international musician. Joel has played countless gigs and sessions with many top notch recording artists such as David Thiele (New Land Music), Glorybox (Sally Forth Records), Justifide (Ardent Records), Stone Daisy (Indie), and Ben Calhoun (Indie), to name a few. During a seven year stint in Nashville, Joel performed with Stone Daisy and shared the bill with artists such as John Mayer, the Counting Crows, King's X, Pete Yorn, Garbage, India Arie, and No Doubt. Joel is able to work well with an artist, learn songs quickly, groove to a click, play with loops, and drum dynamically in demanding situations. He has a strong sense of meter and a solid energetic drumming style that drives the band and keeps the audience captivated. Joel has recently relocated to Denmark with his beautiful wife and 2 kids.
