If you have ever owned A dog you know, Nothing Catches your eye
like a blinding white one. They are fiercely protective, Loyal, gentle,
and patient. Mine was all of those things and much more.
Waushee (wah-she) was a White German Shepard. She had a very
Different life then most dogs.
Whashee started her life in Florida, Jacksonville Beach, She was a present
For my Nephew, As time went on the dog and the nephew were living
With me in my home with 3 other dogs A Harlequin Great Dane (Appy)
A Wolf Hybrid (Sketch), and a Rot-golden retriever (Ralph) Waushee held
Her own. When Appy passed we got another Harlequin Dane (Wrecker),
Wrecker was almost albino (Big White Dog)and we knew he would most likely be blind
Or deaf but we that was something we would get through.
He turned out to be a 200lb blind dog without any problems adjusting.
Things changed and My nephew was moved to California
(Long Beach) so was Waushee, driven across the U. S. in the middle of summer.
Things were not good here for him or the dog so the next year I got my nephew
Back in Florida but the dog was forced to stay. Locked on a small boat
In a Marina. Airlines would not fly dogs during the summer and I could
Not make it to California to get her. We were going to fly her back in
Sept. but she could not wait. About the end of August I got a call from a woman
In Prescott Arizona she said she may have my dog. WHAT??? She said she
Found a skinny white German Shepard laying in the gutter near her home
She tried to pick her up but got bit and the dog ran off. When Waushee
was Found she was only 30 pounds, the pads of her feet worn off, and she had been shot.
That White Dog ran almost 500 miles through the desert at 7 years old in the
middle of August. The woman followed the dog til it dropped from exhaustion.
She took her to the Vet, she still had tags on And was registered To me. But they still did not know her name
when I said call her Waushee She did, and the dog went ballistic in the back ground. I said yep, it’s my Dog.I used the internet to reach out for help.
A lot of good people helped her back to me driven Back across the U. S.
by different people with 2 other dogs being rescued as well.Thank you to eveyone who helped. I don’t put blame on anyone for what she went through anymore,. I got her Back that’s what mattered.
She never left my side again ever.
It was like she knew it was over, she knew she was meant to be with me.
She came home very mellow, strangely quiet,with severe separation anxiety, and still
very protective, If I had to leave she would lay and wait until I came home.
Well the day came when I moved back here to California where I was originally from, me, my Nephew and the dog drove back across the U. S.
Its hard to start over in this state. We were almost homeless, and that dog
Was there through it all. Almost saying all this was for a reason.
When things got better she started to slow down she was 13 years old and
Had been through more things, to more places, and touched more lives then
Most people could in one lifetime.
Waushee was diagnosed with Cancer. it was fast and aggressive. She lost that battle November 3rd 2005. I still cannot accept it.
To watch such a Strong, Majestic, loving animal that had survived all that
Be taken by Cancer was very hard on me and my family.
I started WHITE DOG Because Waushee was my best friend, my protector,
That loved us and unconditionally and had the strength to never give up to
Not quit til she was dead or where she wanted to be. This clothing line to
me, represents strengh,Determination, and undying devotion to getting
Everything you want out of life. Waushee had been back and forth across
The U. S. 3 times covering everything and everyone she came in contact with in Love, happiness, and a whole lot of white dog hair.I mean ALOT! of dog hair
I know one day I will see her again but until then I want everyone coverd, to
Have their own white dog, to keep them warm, make them feel
comfortable or just to look good.
