About Me

SUMMY Award-winning "Blueswoman of the Year" in 1999 and multiple nominee by the Washignton Blues Society for her singing, guitar-playing and her two CD's, Nicole has been entertaining audiences for many years with her "searing, stinging guitar and heart-felt vocals." She has a strong following performing at clubs, festivals and concert venues throughout the Northwest, California, Alaska, and Hawaii. Nicole has performed wth such blues notables as John Lee Hooker, Big Bones, Deacon Jones, Harvey Mandel, and she has opened for such performers as Elvin Bishop, Joe Louis Walker, Curtis Salgado and Lonnie Brooks.Nicole's two CD's, 1998's "From the Beginning" and 2002's"Not Forgotten" display Nicole's talent not only as a performer but also as a songwriter. Nicole's songs range from good time, get up and dance numbers like "Let's Roll" and "Baby Loves Me" to songs that talk about what's happening in our hearts and in our society, songs like "Not Forgotten" and "Big Something." She also knows how to attract the Northwest's top musicians, as the lineups on both of her CD's show.Originally from San Francisco, Nicole began playing the blues in earnest after sitting in on a jam session with Bay Area musician Johny Nitro. Nicole played in Bay area clubs, and in 1992 she was nominated for Best Female Vocalist for teh Bay Area Blues Awards. While in San Francisco, Nicole met and jammed with Keith Richards, who encouraged her to pursue her trade.Nicole was introduced to the Northwest in 1992 when John Lee Hooker invited her to sit in at a sold-out show at Seattle's Moore Theater. Since then Nicole has set her roots in the Northwest and has performed wth the best of the Northwest's blues musicians, including Duffy Bishop, Jerry Miller, Nick Vigarino, Dick Powell, "Little Bill Englehart," Fat James, Jay Mabin and Charles White, to name a few.Nicole's inspired energy and dedication has not gone unnoticed by her peers.
