kele's last project, released in 2004, is a dual-media project (CD recording & printed book), titled "songs from the tinforest", that weaves together her songwriting, poetry and music. The project features a diverse supporting cast of musicians and artists and producer/engineer Dan Kronemann (Bud Osborne, Hundred Block Rock). The songs and poems are very much rooted in the BC landscape, in particular the Vancouver landscape, and are sonic and poetic explorations of the complex forces, desires, and impulses that drive her characters into action.
Throughout the 1990's and into the zeros, kele was the lead singer, songwriter and guitarist for Vancouver indie folk-pop group, hazel motes. kele's solo and group work has received critical acclaim over the years and a number of her songs have charted on North American campus radio.
- CBC's David Wisdom declares "kele fleming is a great singer"Tom Harrison of the Vancouver Province says "[keles] vision is even more personal as she combines minimalistically arranged songs with spoken word passages. Its a bold move but it works. "The Georgia Straight writes "it's Fleming's way with words, her pop hooks that catch the ear"
