Continuing to write lyrics that aided him in his daily struggles with life, Crockett distinguished himself among his peers as a premier lyricist with untapped potential as an artist. Using writing as his main tool to deal with the streets of D.C., Crockett crafted his technique lyrically and began performing at local venues to polish his performance and cultivate his stage presence.Crocketts songs are an extension of himself and life in D.C. Not only does he use his own experiences, thoughts, and ideas, he pulls from the experiences of others to create a more rounded and vivid image of a city where many dont get to fully use their talents. His first full-length album All These Years is a culmination of those struggles, experiences, joys, and lessons. Every song gives listeners an inside look and Crockett and the city with eyes of an insider who wants to see his city recognized for the talent it harbors.
The phrase you cant judge a book by its cover, is a huge understatement when it comes to Davey Crockett. His words are his life, and by the end of song, all that is left for listeners to say is Yeah!
