By rhyferTo enquire for commission either contact me through myspace or via my website www.rhyswootton.co.ukI work as a freelance illustrator and screen printer. Really obsessed with making gig posters and the whole scene. In 2006 I attended a screen print master class with Chuck Sperry hosted at BDI printers in Brighton. This ignited my enthusiasm in screen printing and gig posters. All of us in the workshop got so fired up we formed the British Rock Artist Group (www.bargart.co.uk) an arts collective that specializes in producing screen printed gig posters. A few months from setting up the group we were invited by Non Grata, a performance group from Estonia to display our posters in an international print exhibition. I went alone and represented the group. It was a strange experience but I had a great time with all the artists out there.
In 2007 Chuck Sperry and Ron Donovan from Firehouse Kustom Rock Art Co. Invited myself and three other BRAG artists to attended a 2 week internship at their studio in San Francisco – It was truly amazing experience and a Big thank you to the guys and everyone I met out there. Following summer Chuck, Ron and Marc travelled over to the UK to embark on a full scale tour of Poster art around the UK. We hosted a Firehouse & BRAG gig poster exhibition at the Basement arts production. Nearly 1000 people came for the weekend – it was awesome!I took up residency at Output studio with good friend Ben Duarri and worked there for a year producing my own art whilst working for the studio. Currently I’m at Northstar print studio, joining the group in Dec 2007. It’s a nice little studio that has been running for 20 years. At the moment I am setting up Mothership Print co. that offers a design and print service specifically for serigraphic printing.I also play guitar and I’m slowly working on a comic book idea in my spare time (which isn’t that much).
